BM 1202 and 1225 are a couple of factory painted MDC harriman coaches. I sanded the roofs to make them smooth, added interiors and renumberd one of them. I am pretending they are 1935 lightweight "American Flyer" coaches

Some cars that I recently finished.

This is an Athearn 40' Box Car, Painted Boxcar red with Black ends and decaled with Champ Decals.

These two are McKean 40' Double Door Boxcars, painted one yellow for general service, the second is painted Pullman green and is a mail storage car for use on Passenger and Mail and Express trains. Both were lettered with Herald King Decals.

Thanks for Looking

Rick

Latest shot of my Barsol Chemical Truck. The decals were custom made (not by me but a graphic designer who was handsomely paid I might add). There is still much weathering to do on the trucks yet. This is one of three.

First a prototype picture....then my attempt at recreating the tanker. Again, many details to add yet.......

Went to K-10 Model Trains yesterday and bought $50.00 of HO junk. Well, barrels, pallets trucks and little people that is! I all so have a new found respect for Railroaders that stage there layouts with small details like people. More of a pain than I thought it was going to be. Hard part was waiting for the glue to sit up.

This is the new spur I am working. This is the first section that I have sickened on plywood. Other areas I have worked I used 2 inch foam for the base.

1971 Plum Crazy Cuda with Bill Board Strips is not HO scale, but seems to work with the truck.Truck is by Boley and for $5.00 seemed like a good deal.

Bill and Frank is loading a Comp Prep 727 in the back of the truck for my 1971 Sub Lime Green Cuda in the for ground. Race Hemi is still on the loading dock in the crate that is being opened. Todd is going at it with the crowbar.

Jake, he is dragging a palleat in to be reused.

Looks like we need to get the weed whacker after the rails.

Next will be adding a chain link fences. Dave The Train was so kind to send me some top notch looking fences material. Thanks Dave.

Been working on a tyco c-630 over the last couple weeks.  Parents found it at an estate sale and thought they would buy it for me.  I have added an athearn frame and trucks, a cal scale super detail set, antennas.  I have shaved off all of the cast on details and replaced them with the cal scale stuff.  I filled in the pilots and permanentaly mounted the front plow and cut off the mounting hooks.  The pics show most of the details applied.  I also bent some new brass handrails for it.  Needed to be added are the coupler cut bars and the windshield wipers.  I am in need of some air tanks as well but I think for now it looks good for now.  It is in primer now and now I need to come up with a paint color for it.

Here are the pics, sorry about some of the blurry ones

Finally finished the burned-out-barn built from Horst Meier's article in Model Railroader.

Yes, that signal behind it is missing the target, I have to get an LED for it before I can finish assembly. It will protect the reversing segment and lift bridge.

I also started building my paper mill and have started construction of the Mascoma River Valley scene on the layout, but I'll wait to post photos until those are done.

The management of the Cedar Branch & Western RR picked up a used trestle cheap at a recent train show.  With some replacement parts and rails, a new trestle was born.  The finishing touches of the installation are completed by the CB&W's MOW crew in the pictures below:

Been scratchbuilding this weekend. Overview: Spotting cars: The lot. I need some trucks to fill the lot up. Pulling by the cannery: The Dixie Quick-Mix bagging plant. I have a lot left to do but the two basic structures are there. Looking between the buildings: Pulling out of the spur:

Looks like a ramp thing so you can load a car on the second track from the freight door.

Bingo!  You are correct, Sir!  Stay on the line so we can tell you what you've won!

Here's the prototype:

Over on the Railwire, we had a little modeling challenge with this being the subject.  We saw one built in Z scale, a couple in HO, and a couple more in N Scale.  The challenge was to see if we could build this simple model by simply using stuff we had laying around the workbench.  Mine took two nights to complete.  Here's another look at it:

For the tread plate, I went to a manufacturer's website and sampled one of the pattern images, then made a black ink decal on clear film.  I did the coloration and weathering on the styrene plates, then finished it with the decal overlay.

It was really a fun little project.  I had no use for it on the layout (no parallel warehouse tracks!) so I put it on eBay, and managed to get $20 for it!

BTW, my model was, of course, in N scale.

It must be lunch time, right?  I see the one guy sitting around the corner but he must not care about the melting blocks right now.   Some of them will still be there when he is done with his PB&J

Margaritaman, darn that looks real.I am guessing HO scale?

Dragenrider, good look trestle and like your back drop as well.

Sawyer, that side is starting to shape up nicely. When you get the buildings the shape you want them are you going to kit bash them? Reason I asked is on one of my postings G Plain sent a link for DPM modular wall system. You can print out to scale to see what would work for a building you are wanting to build.

Hope to see a lot more pictures today.

This is a picture of my "trainhouse" but I also get to show you my gardening efforts that are starting to pay off.  So while I wait for something to dry or set on the layout, I go work on the plants.  The trainhouse was my daughter's playhouse that I built six years ago, but since reclaimed due to her outgrowing it.

Great work.  I've never seen one of those until this thread but the recreation is well done.  Thanks for sharing.

Is that a jacuzzi in the center or a humoungus firepit? That train house would never fly in Iowa. -20 degree's and 2' of snow. That would be one cold trip. So how large is the train house?
