life-like 2-8-8-2 different

Is there a difference between the original heritage usra 2-8-8-2 in ho & the new one being offered,they look like maby, differant classes? Y-3a & Y-4.thanks ahead of time

 The USRA didn't do different classes, most of their engines were based on existing designs, and of course many "copies" were made after the USRA-era so there could be changes. If you're asking about the model, the earliest Life-Like 2-8-8-2s sometimes had a poor soldering connection that required taking the engine apart to fix, so it would be best to avoid those.
