car kits
Posted by wedudler on Monday, April 19, 2010 6:01 AM

I'm building a H0n3 combine.

I've started the building on April 11. This is a lot of fun for the money, I've worked step by step, with a few mistakes of course.      Smile

Here's my HowTo with a lot of pictures, step by step.

Wolfgang,That's coming along very nicely. Those LaBelle kits are really fun to work with.

I wanted to make an model of the Great Western Railway coach #100. The only passenger car the Great Western owned other then a McKeen Motorcar. Not being able to find one as nobody made them. I had to build My own. So working with photo's, Drawings, And a couple of phone calls to the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden Colorado, Where the prototype resides. And making modifications to a LaBelle kit I was able to build Mine. It's almost done except for lettering and the undercarriage details..

Wolfgang,

Kudos to you.  I lack the intestinal fortitude to take on such a project.

Hello  Very nice job. You are right it does look like fun. I see you have built a few other Labelle kits. Are they a good kit? Would you recommend them for mid skill level builder? I like wood kits but I have only done a couple pieces rolling stock and few buildings. Thanks for sharing and the how to. Have a nice day Frank
