Railway Museum Open House
Posted by NeO6874 on Sunday, April 18, 2010 7:52 AM

for anyone in/aound Cle OH:

I was perusing the net and saw that teh Midwest Railway preservation society is having an open house this coming Sat (April 24). I went to one of them last year -- during the tour, they'll explain some of the history of railroading in CLE, take you into some of their equipment, and (provided the RS-3 is behaving) take you on a short trip up & down the yard lead.

IIRC, they take you through the Pullman Sleeper/Lounge car Mount Baxter, and two 80-seat day coaches (NKP 62 and 90) (these cars are of movie fame --> they starred in "The Natural").  They will also pull out their equipment of Cuyahoga Valley Scemic Railway fame, the ex-GTW 4070, which is currently undergoing full restoration of the boiler, etc (so this likely also depends on said RS-3).

I unfortunately don't have any of my pics of their equipment (camera doesn't want to let go of them Thumbs DownAngry).  I borrowed this from the MRPS website:
