I have been wanting to build models of various diesel locomotives from scratch for about the past 2 years because I find it to be more economical and even more fun than buying a ready-to-run (or rebuild) locomotive. I have just about everything except for scale drawings of my favorite prototypes. Can anyone help me by giving me eather websites, previous publications with an article that has drawings in them, paint diagrams, or anything else that could help me? Really any drawings of any diesel locomotives would do, but I would perfer locomotives you could find in use in the present day.
Trainiax is one source of scale drawings: http://www.trainiax.net/ . The drawings are in various scales so you would need to adjust them to fit your scale. Model Railroader has published many scale drawings of contemporary locomotives. If you go to the top of this page and click on "Resources" and then on "Index of Magazines" you can search the contents of back issues for drawings of locos of your interest.
