World's Longest Train Video
Posted by mlehman on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 7:16 PM

Can't get enough of train video's? Well have I got news for you.

"Google Maps and Russian Railways, which operates the Trans-Siberian Railway, have launched a new Web site that offers an exhaustive virtual tour of the entire journey from Moscow to Vladivostok."

The Trans-Siberian Railway is 5,752 miles long and the video is roughly 150 hours long. The videographers took pains to record only in daylight. According to my trusty calculator, this comes out to approximately 38 mph.

I'm not sure how long the link will last, but I read this on the New York Times here:

I've always wanted to take this trip and maybe some day I will. Heck, I don't have time right now to watch the whole video, but have fun watching what you can.
