Are there any videos of the manufacturing of brass locomotives? would be interesting to see how these are made at the factory, even the making of plastic also, how are the initial molds made? Oh ! why is brass used instead of other metals?

Brass is cheap, takes solder well and is well understood.

Would you like the choo choo make of titanium? Ouch.

I think a video of a brass engine factory will have many people bent over tables soldering parts onto the engines while others bend sheet and so on.

Maybe Brass is used in hybrid form to spark sales and pull forward sales that might otherwise be postponed for similar engines.

I have always enjoyed brass engines, I know I will never own one. Be that it is, contentment is in watching and enjoying brass engines owned by others pulling a train or sitting in a glass box waiting to pull one.

Cheers.

Are there any videos of brass construction? not to my knowledge...why is brass used ,because it is probably the easiest metal to work with and keep in mind brass locomotives and rolling stock are limited run models of many different  prototype's, basically hand made by craftsman in Japan and more recently Korea.

Sad to say that nowadays even 90% our plastic stuff is all made in china....
