Layout progress (56kers pics inside...)

This is the top level Milwaukee yard, passenger station in back, yard curves to the right.

there are 5 tracks, each can hold roughly 40 cars. On the left is the Carfloat which is removeable, the carfloat area is an operating position (will be) to switch cars in/out of it.  No track power on the carfloat, idler flats must be used.

A train will be able to arrive on either of the left 2 tracks. This is close to how the scene will be looking of course minus scenery and lighting.

Right now its being used to store my equipment while I rework the lower modules, I decided to turn it into the N&W/Virginian portion, and it has to lower down to the HON3 module and work that in.

I made a goal on myself doing this. All my equipment placed on the upper deck cannot be moved off except for emergencies and testing of track on other portions of the layout. it returns back to the upper deck. Once the rest of the layout is in workable condition, I will party running the equipment off in some kind of parade.

should be fun an interesting as I go  heh. Watch this space as I am going to add on the North Shore portion to this, yes, theres more. I decided to make a working traction loop and make a trial loop over the Milwaukee yard. It will be modular and lay right over the yard with bridgework (initial work is paper doll cutout ROW with plywood/homasote which will adapt into the modeled scene). Mostly to test how it works, fitting in and adjustments. This by itself will be a trick. The lower Milwaukee yard will have a reverse loop to turn engines that can take 18" radius and passenger trains (will only use shorty passenger cars, other cars don't get turned)

I decided to add the trolley loop after finding pics on the North Shore and the Milwaukee streetcar system that the double track in the street went past the North Shore depot and connected to the Milwaukee system. This makes the Milwaukee NS depot track more complicated than I originally planned. oboy.

The Easy Street system is tempting me to use this, which may make it a lot easier to lay its track.
