trains age

Hello,

Does anyone know of a website that tells of a locos age? Like what would be a good selection of engines for a modern layout?

   Thanks Stephen

Just think it could be worse.

Diesel Spotter's guide would be of benefit.  Numbeer of web sites having roster info and years in service, etc.  Start with the road you wish to portray and then research via the web.  But keep in mind that SD40-2s were introduced in the early 70s but many are still operating today in the ownership of power leasing companies and regionals.  You can even spot SD40s and -45s in service having been rebuilt and modernized.

Trains. Cooking. Cycling. So many choices but so little time.

A good one that I would use is www.rr-fallenflags.org   Find the blue alphabet and click on the letter representing the railroad of interest.  Then look to your heart's content at steamers, diesels, rolling stock....
