Atlas SD26 split-windshield cabs or Des Plains Hobbies window inserts?
Posted by Packer on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 4:46 PM

Anyone know anyplace where I can aquire these parts?

I checked atlas for SD26 cabs and glazing that have the split windshield, but they are out. A google search showed a window insert made by *Des Plaines Hobbies, but it's not listed on the web page.

Atlas does have the SD24 with the one-piece windshield, and I'm thinking the insert would work with that. However I don't feel up to cutting and splicing a cannon cab front just for the windows.

*Here's a description of the des plains part:

DPH2005
Split windshield insert for chop nose EMD 1st gen Geeps.

Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....

2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.
