Thanks Fellas, I really enjoyed all of those stories.
I will not relate this story now, but when you have the time, if you haven't already done so, look up the original story of the "Kate Shelley Bridge" Just "Google" it or use "Wickipedia"
That is a great story that would fit right in here. Lots of drama and suspense, and a true story as well. Uncle Pete has just recently completed the new Kate Shelley Bridge at a humoungous cost to allow for two way traffic on that main line through Iowa.
I know one of our readers and contributors here is from Boone Iowa, but I can't remember his name right now. If you read this fill us in some more on any of the local stories about this Bridge and this event.

I collect old railroad magazines ( the pulp ones) I love them for stories from guys like Dellinger,Earp and Bozo Texino! You guys here have some good yarns going on!We need a thread for it ( yarn, thread I kill me!) for some "true tales of the rails" type stuff.
Yes you should always shut the knuckles at both ends! Keeps the luck from running out either end really and locks everything in the train ;).
Yes we are on time but this is yesterdays train

I did. Took georgev's advice, anme, and intro, gve him the credit for them, got two replies, I caught the flu (hard to think with 102.9 fever, it is. Lot of boiler stores though) and the thread died. I'll go bump it.
