Yank Model Research?
Posted by LS1Heli on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 5:24 PM

Does anyone have any information regarding this vintage scale structures mfg.? There is very little information regarding what they produced and in what scales! Not sure if anyone here ever built or purchased one of their kits.

I seem to dimly recall hearing that product name way, way back in the 1960's or so.  I don't remember what all they made or to what scale.

Hi from Australia,

I just picked up 3 Yank Model research house kits, they are in 0 scale, I have 3 different houses, the date on the plans is 1947. Hope this helps. The kits are die cut wood, well made, clear windows & doors supplied.

Google books: Catalog of Copyright Entries January-June 1949, Library of Congress  has three entries for model kit instructions, a butane tank, a pressure sphere, and a railroad water tank. The author is Joseph T. Krupa.

There are currently several Yank Model kits of HO scale tanks listed on ebay.  according to the label on vidible on one kit, the combany was located in Chicago.

I tried to sell my two cents worth, but no one would give me a plug nickel for it.

I don't have a leg to stand on.

Just as a point of note, the OP placed this question in 2009 and has not posted on the forum since, so in all likelihood any well intentioned assistance at this time will go un-read.

The original poster appears to be long gone from this site, however others may be interested.

Based on the photos of the unbuilt kits and instructions on ebay,  it appears that they would build into some very nice models.
