Hello yep the circus is coming to Cleveland at the end of Oct 21-27. And what I would I like to do is find the rout the circus train well tack in/out of Cleveland. I would like to get some photos of it and so my little girl can see it. She loves the circus and I though it would be cool if I could find the train. I did look at the Ringling bros site but did not see anything about the train. Any info would be great. Thanks Frank
Have you tried calling the railroad and asking for the dispatcher? I did that once when a steam train came through town. He gave me the schedule for the return trip, so I played hooky from work that day and got some great shots.
You might try contacting the circus directly, and ask if you could photograph the unloading process. If you post a few pics here, you could say you were planning to post them on a railroading website, which would give them an "official" reason to let you do it. They might even let you bring your daughter along. If she belongs to a group like Girl Scouts or 4H, consider making it a group activity. The circus might welcome that kind of positive publicity.
It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.
Find out what route Amtrak takes when the circus comes to the East coast I know from DC up to Boston they use the northern corridor, I have seen the train twice and if not mistaken it was on an episode of Extreme Trains.
There's a Yahoo group who regularly posts pictures and the schedule, Sorry I don't have the link handy, one of the posters there, and here, is a former trainmaster on the RBBX.
