Well a late posting, I felt bad Sunday and did nothing. Did not feel great but not as bad as I did Sunday. Got the interchange redone from the A Line to the C Line. Took longer than it should but seems to work well. Only my GE AC 6000 UP does not like it.
Had to get some drill bites from Home Depot and score a damaged 2 inch thick section of foam for $5.00.
Got the bridges back up, one still needs some work at the turnout but should not be hard.
K-10 mine is finally paying for it self. Made the first revenue run today! K-10 mining is on a Monon line.
Monon Heavy Mike pulling some empty coal cars up the the mine.
F 3's getting ready to drag a coal train on to the A line.
Heavy Mike up to the mining company and F-3's heading out.
Big Boy is heading back to the A Line (UP) and is waiting till the Coal train makes it out.
I have got one the Reversing Module ready to be installed. Added more foam to K-10 Mountain ready to be cut and painted and there is 2 dozen more trees. Still have a little over a dozen ready.
Boy, if I felt good for both days off!

Great stuff as usual guys!I have been recovering from a bout with pneumonia the last few weeks so haven't gotten much done on the layout.
Here is a photo of NYC S-3 #874 doing a little switching on the Farmer's Union siding.
Thanks to all of you out there who have visited my website. It recently went past 20,000 visitors! Thanks to all!
Keep up the good work guys, this is always the best thread of the week.

Some action at Hawk Point Mo.
Okay, one more from me:
2-8-2 #1208 running as 'helper' for 2-10-2 #1400 with a heavy manifest freight crossing Bullards Bar bridge. Actually, the 2-8-2 isn't really needed, as it's on a westbound 1% descending grade. It's simply attached to the freight because it's running west to Deer Creek to help balance out the typical WWII power shortage on the road.
A little fuzzy, I know. Either my eyes or the camera are having a few focus problems lately.

Garry: Nice shot! Of course, as you already know, I've got a weakness for anything Burlington. I like that Alco. And I really like the stockyard.
One question--is the Burlington reefer behind the alco possibly an older steel Varney? Sure looks like one. And if so---YUMMY! I've got some older Varney rolling stock that I still keep busy on the Yuba River Sub. Neat cars.
howmus I got to spend the day at the home of Ned Spiller MMR. We had an executive board meeting for the NMRA Division there and then got to see his layout. This layout was first created in Dallas Tex. and then shipped to Hammondsport NY when he an his wife moved here 3 years ago. he is in the porcess of putting it back together in what was originally a garage in the house. He is also expanding the layout to "fill up" the available space.

Nice looking layout. Hammondsport, you say? I used to have relatives in Penn Yan, at the north end of Keuka Lake. I've been to Hammandsport numerous times but never did see the Bath & Hammondsport RR in action. Beautiful country, though.

Not sure if I ever shared this photo here. This is the beginnings of the Cemex dealer in Victorville CA. The hopper is on the only track that will service Cemex and the loco is ready to move on with his train now that the southbound train has cleared.
I like this scene to but have since moved the cement plant. Some day I will add some ground cover and actually detail the area.

ngartshore........ By coincidence, I, too, had a snake in the train room today. First time that has ever happened to me. Mine was also harmless. It was a common water snake.

Great work guys, here is a slightly off topic photo.
This little Carpet Snake decided to pay my layout a visit, certainly woke me up when I shifted the sheet of foam!
Funny I am more concerned about large spiders than I am of this guy, and no he/she isn't poisonous.
Nik.N., I'm glad the picture brought back nice memories.
Well we will call it fresh out of the shops ready for its first season of snow. Thanks Ty for the kind words.
alco's forever!!!!! Majoring in HO scale Minorig in O scale:)
rs2mikeirst I pretty much completed my rs snowplow conversion. It has been about 2 years in the making, looking for the right parts and getting everything togther. All that is left is to letter and number it.
No...you also need to rust it up and weather the heck out of it! It looks really good, Mike! That is nice quality work!
Also been working on some mdc roundhouse passanger cars. This is a slow process as well. I got the frames done finally. Now if I could just pick an exterior color and interior color. I will have seats in the obs coach, and coach. The combine will be a kitchen and food service car and I am thinking of opening the door to the baggage car and putting some mountain bikes in it. This will be the excursion train for the Pine River Railroad.
So what color should I use on the cars. I was thinking a yellow with tan interior and black seats, or a maroon with tan and black. Or maybe a blue tan and black. Staying away from green because the picture in my head says that the layout will be mostly a wooded layout.

It started its life as an AHM rs-2 that had only a single power truck. The plow came from the IHC gondola with a plow front. I cut up 2 frames to get the right truck mounting and soldered it together. I filled in the pilot and added frame mounted kd couplers and mu hoses. Also bent my handrails from brass. All that is left is to letter and number and light touch of weathering. I am pretty pleased with how it came out. I think this will be the colors and scheme for the Pine River Railroad.
IVRWstebbycentral After some several months delay I finally finished up installing sound modules in the tenders of my two Bachman On30 Moguls. Due to the the placement of the speaker you usually have to surgically remove the molded-in coal load, leaving a gaping hole in the tender deck. Working from some reference photographs that I have, I added a bunker extension to the tender. I made the railings made from strip styrene, and after plating over the tender deck, covered it all with chunks of coal. One down, one to go. that is a really nice locomotive. I would change scales just for that locomotive.

Dude, stop putting photos from your grandpa's old collection of real photos that you scanned into your computer and colorized. You can't fool us anymore. That must be your grandma sitting on the wooden crate. Why else would grandpa be taking the photo--not for the train because then it would be centered in the photo. Lucky I've been to your place to prove me wrong.

MisterBeasleyThis is an old Vulcan engine, now on static display in a small park in the harbor of Rockport, Maine
That old 0-4-0 used to haul rock from local quarries, one of many old locomotives sitting out in the weather rusting away until there is nothing left to restore
Good to see the yellow spandex on top; too many bike riders try narrow Maine roads in dark colors - make that invisible to drivers.
