Anyone have an MTH HO GS4 or IS going to buy an MTH HO Challenger?

If you ran a no car train on no track, how long would it take to derail?

Well,

Since I don't model either the SP or UP, and my layout is DC powered at only 12 volts which will not run an MTH loco at a normal range of speeds, and since I'm not a collector,

the answer would be NO on all counts.

But I am thinking about getting three of the new Bachmann C&O H4's when they come out. So the score remains:

Bachmann 24, with 3 more pending

Athearn 16

Intermountain 6

BLI/PCM 9

Proto2000 49

Mantua 2

Brass 2

IHC 2

MTH 0, zip, nada, not a shot

I own an older Bachmann Gs4 and got the Bowser drive for it, then I own 2 Bowser challengers, so, nope and nope.

I have the GS4 Daylight. I love it. I run mine on DCC and it runs great. I'm waiting for the passenger cars to go with it. I also just ordered the NYC 20th Century Hudson.

Cheers

Jim.

I have an MTH HO NYC Mohawk.  Not a bad looking engine but I have had trouble programming it on DCC.  As for the the Challenger I won't be buying one as I do not model Uncle Pete and have spent enough money on brass over the years to hold me over.

This will be the old Lionel HO Challenger with the latest DCS geewhiz bangs added under the hood.

He already has enough of my money so unless I win the lottery no  none for me.

My friend was taunting me with his MTH challenger  so I told him to bring it over and he did. Put it next to my Tenshodo  brass challenger and shut him up right quick. The MTH is nice but I hate when he does stuff like that.

Just my 2 cents worth, I spent the rest on trains. If you choked a Smurf what color would he turn?

Uh--no.

I run DC.  I have two GS-4's.  Both brass.  Both Balboa.  One is in Daylight, the other is in War Baby.  Both can pull anything I want behind them.  I'm just waiting for a decent Daylight train for them.

I have no need for a UP Challenger from anyone.  If I want a 4-6-6-4, I'll look for another used Westside Rio Grande L-105, or hope that Sunset comes out--eventually--with their GN/NP/SP&S Z-6.

If I want a 4-6-6-4, I want a MONSTER, not a mouse!

Even if it was for a road name that I was thinking about modeling, I will not buy it just because it is MTH.
