My vote was for a combination. I especially enjoy the creative responces to quaestions about problems someone has. For someone who has been out of the hobby for many years like myself it has been great to be able to pick the brain of many experienced modelers at the same time. The pictures have also been great to look at. As for the donuts or beer my vote would be for a blueberry cake donut in the morning and a cold Honey Brown late in the afternoon.

Hunter - When we met in January of 2000, you were just a 6 week old pup who walked his way into this heart of mine as the only runt in the litter who would come over to me. And today, I sit here and tell you I am sorry we had to put you down. It was the best thing for you and also the right thing to do. May you now rest in peace and comfort. Love, Dad. 8 June 2010

I love you and miss you Mom. Say hi to everyone up there for me. Rest in peace and comfort. Love, John. 29 March 2017

I'm basicaly here to get some ideas & info etc. & give some ideas & answers for those that I can help out if possible. Which has been very beneficial to me for my layout . Also there are what seems to be a few kind railfans that I stay in contact with, I get info about what's going on in the local real world railroads which is pretty neat. I've only been on the net for a few months now & sites like this sure makes life alot nicer, With all of the good info & such. PS; Also the forum karate fights ( arguments ) do get kind of interesting at times. " HAPPY RAILS "

I come to answer questions, learn things, occaisionally ask a question. But mostly because it's the only place where I can find conversation about model railroading. It also fires me up to do things on the layout. I guess you are all my support group for this habit I have called model railroading.
Enjoy

I visit this forum because:

It's fun to talk with other modelers.

It's a great way to get answers to questions.

It's just a good forum.

Those are my reasons. LONG LIVE TRAINS.COM!!!!!!

I post questions, try to answer questions, and I like talking to other modelers. This forum is really my only connection to other modelers. I know there must be several others in my area, but I don't know who they are, so for now a spend my time here.

Not necessarily. I have been coming to this site nearly every day since it began and only have 2 stars. That's because I'm not post happy or star happy and only chime in when I have something relevant and worthwhile to contribute.

At one time i frequented Train Orders a lot. They went to a subscription based scheme that seemed a little expensive. I liked the photo section and used it all the time. The forums were so so but had good info i just had to dig. The forums are better here and I get many of my photos from Fallen-Flags. I even like the web cam here a lttle better. I understand it takes money to support a website but there are those that have other ways than charging a subscription for usage. Most of the same stuff I can get for free or by supporting the website owner in other ways like this site.

The combination thing. I'm home all day now and having found so many people who are into this hobby after about 35 years of being a lone wolf is very satisfying. But you all are cutting into my modeling big time!

I told my wife recently that model railroading doesn't seem to my hobby anymore. It's been replaced by READING about model railroading! I've turned into a "mouse click" modeler. Two edged sword here...

I chose the combo. I may have spent hours or months researching a particular subject. If someone else is looking for the same info, I can save them time or point them in the right direction. Also the reverse is true. I have found info here that helps. Communicating with Forum members helps me to stay intrested and motivated when I'm not able to work on the layout.
In a way this is a international train club without a layout. Wouldn't it be cool if there was a way to have M.S. Train simulator on this site and we could build virtual modules to run our simulated locomotives on.

Actually I had pretty much stopped posting on the Trains forums.

I am active on several of the Yahoo Groups, but stopped posting on Trains forums about 2 -3 months ago when the majority of the active threads were either politcal, talking about how we should all get along or congratulating each other for having posted umpteen comments.

Really nothing to do with trains at all.

It seems to be more "on topic" lately.
