N Scale Diesel Detailing - Strobe Lights

Have decided to take the leap into detailing using the strobes and DCC. (Ditch lights will come next...). Any hints or ideas? (Step by step instructions/item list?) Most installations will utilize the Digitrax DN163K1a... ANY help or ideas are greatly appreciated. I purchased yellow 1.5mm LEDs with a 470 ohm resistor. Will these work?
