Good Evening All,

Busy day today, got lots rearranged here at home and with a bit of a sweep up and a dumpster run I can move the stuff into the new weight/music room. Haven't touched the layout, but that's next.

RH - yes the sound effects were there a while ago (still remember my AF with smoke and still have my 60's Tyco billboard with sound of some sort). But the new stuff is awesome and way beyond the little peek we had of it's abilities on DC.

Hoople - You really need to consider two BigBoys - one for each side of the layout to keep it from tipping over.

Dick - did you get the 080 up and running yet? nosey people want to know.

That really was some party last time, at least what I remember of it and I hope we all behave better this time so Vinnie doesn't get agitated. And really what was that about stainless flatware? All I ever get when I come in is a wooden spoon. Do I at least get upgraded to plastic this year? Big Smile [:D] J.R.

I know. I like having it sound sinister.

My resolution for the new year is to:

Finish (coSTARTugh)scenery on the layout...

But, will the big boy or the scenery come first? The world may never know....

Jim- Vinnie and I have an understanding. If I show up, I'll wear boxing gloves so there won't be any chance of me pinching any of the girls.

Prayers for all.

Afternoon, Coffee Clubbers! Chloe, what kind of pie do you need help cleaning up a piece of? Apple? Sounds great - give me that with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a cup of coffee, please. Dinner [dinner] I'll be over in the corner booth - got to keep Duke awake so he'll be ready to sleep tonight when he gets home. Evil [}:)][heh, heh...

Oh, sure, Duke - stir up Vinnie and get poor Flip worried, and then cut out! Evil [}:)]Wink [;)] Well, I don't think Flip has to worry that much. I heard Vinnie telling Chloe that so long as nobody touches or tries to do any tatoo-peeking, he'll be nice, too. (But if not... Shock [:O])

I think all that finery PC got in the pics was the setup for the grand (re-)opening. Zoe and Chloe both said they hate to have to polish all that silver, so after the opening, I bet it's back to the stainless flatware for us. Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Hey Hoople, good to hear your friend's engine is running fine again. Good luck with your 'evil' plot. But how could getting a Big Boy be connected with anything evil? Wink [;)]

Yum, that pie was really good, now to wash my plate and cup so you can add it to the box, ladies. That was very fortunate that the guys located the Geep and the boxcars - I was wondering how the pool table was gonna get moved, with some of the backs that some of the guys here have. Will be seeing you all tomorrow!

Evening all

So,we are moving and looks to be a little fancy or is that for the ribbon cutting??? I have dibs on the back of the corner booth as I need to keep practicing for those naps when(and if) I get to retire. I think café' is a little too upscale for this Old Country Boy and Coffee Shop still has a good ring to it.

Jerry Good to see you back and now all we need is for Fergie's dad and some of the others in here to get back on their feet as well.Angel [angel]Angel [angel]Angel [angel]

Snowing out now, has been for about 2 hours, the grass is now all covered, where was this just one week ago for a White Christmas!!!!?? It won't last long though, as we have rain coming in for New Years day.

Hot coffee sure tastes great on a day like today....JEFF, you did a good job !!!

So from what I hear, the CS is moving.
I got my friends train to run again.
For new years, I want to get some scenery down on the layout, because it's been the big blue wasteland for about 1/2 a year now.
Also, I have an evil plot. It is very evil indeed. I am going to sell my old brio thomas trains on ebay. I have at least 400 pieces... so if I am lucky, it will get to about the $320 marker, and it will be time to get the big boy... MWUHAHAHAHHAAAA!

Well, if Vinnie will be there I just might not come. He still has it in for me. I DID NOT TOUCH-PINCH any of the girls. Heck, if Deb thought I had, I wouldnot still be around.

Had a safe round trip to Miami.

Wish ya'll a HealthyNEW YEAR.

Good Morning, Zoe - I'll have toast, ham and eggs (scrambled, please). Nice buffet, PC! Oh yeah, let me get one of those cinnamon rolls Bill T. brought - there they are, on the lower layer, just under the chocolate donuts. Yum! Dinner [dinner].

If you like that Australian diner, Jeff, you'll love the two other ones behind and back of it! Guess when PC was doing the scouting of the new location found it, they also found the other cars. I sure hope all that nice glassware is sturdy, with the way the last party here was like! Ah, I'm sure the twins will do as they did in the past (hide the fragile stuff). I heard Chloe say something about bringing Cuz'n Vinnie in to serve as assistant bouncer. Shock [:O]

Grey today, and looks like it's damp outside - guess we're gonna get some of that wet front you had last night, Jeff.

How about everyone's New Year's plans/dreams for what you want to do with your layout this year? Myself, I would like to get my track, wiring and basic scenery done, and be able to run trains in the next few months. Also want to get some more structures assembled and start getting Kadees on more of my rolling stock and locos. How about the rest of ya?

Time for me to get going - I'll see you later in the afternoon, perhaps.

Blessings,

Jim in Cape Girardeau

Good morning everyone, cloudy and cold here today, 28F (-2C), with light snow due here any minute now. The wife is down with a bad head cold, came down with it yesterday, even her teeth hurt. Plenty of hot showers, but no relief yet. Being in the same house in close proximity, I don't know how long "I" can dodge the bullet.

JEFF: you guys have some wild weather down there lately, all that Gulf moisture is feeding the big LOW hitting Denver with copious amounts of snow again. This same storm is due to go west of us into Canada, giving us more rain again, about 1 to 1.5". We will break our alltime record for LACK of snow here in central MA for the month of December.

PC: HEY, what are doing in the new Diner car already!!! It doesn't open until Jan 1st 2007!! Jeff, can't you control him at all??? Wait til Duke hears of it. He'll get Quito in here fast.

OZ JIM: Sounds good Jim, should be quite a party, I hope you can keep Fergie and Luc in control, there're part animals you know.

See ya at lunch...I hear they are taking the old CS and tearing it down to make room for another siding.

Well keep the coffee on for me; I have to work 2100-0200 on New Years Eve and I'll be stopping in to see what the new place looks like. Did anybody drop a note to Big_boy or any of the "past" members to tell them what is going on?

Make that bacon and eggs for me.

And a spot of orange juice.

Hey Philip, that address looks to be correct. I love those old dining cars.

You don't want the AC on around here Jeff.  It's kinda chilly for that!

OK BOYS!  The breakfast bar is open!

I think I'll have the eggs benedict!

BTW, I got a chance to check out the new place, at least, I think I got the address right.

It's right that OZ should kick us off, because the diner I saw was a 1919 Australian dining car.

Is this the place?  Did I get the address right?

Boy, I had some fun! I had to go out today and get a new 80GB hard disk to replace my primary drive. It was starting to do strange and wonderful things. It would run normally for a while then it would start making a click-click sound every 10 seconds. That's a sure sign that the heads are going bad. So I got the new drive, put it in as a slave, partitioned and formatted it then copied all the data from the old drive to the new one, that took about an hour. Once that was done I removed the old drive, reset the new one to master and put it in the old drives place. A simple power-up, a little tweaking and I'm back in business.

Wow, did that include the Windows install? (Bold assumption that you are a Win32/64 user)  IF so thats great!  I can never make that time because windows takes sooooo long to reinstall. Anyway, FYI Best Buy is running a deal on WD SATA drives.  I just picked up a 160GB for $79 (store price, no annoying mail in rebate junk) and I think they are still running it if you are interested!

All:  G'Mornin!  I'll take a baco-egg sammich Zoe.  Thanks, you're a doll!  Kinda ashame that I have only been dining in this fine establishement for 1 month exactly when it gets torn to the ground.  Hrm, well can't stand in the way of progress eh?

Its finally cooling off here in MD, I think winter might actually have arrived!  Woooo!  Its nothing like your's Jeff, but I detest the humidity here in MD and would probably die if i visited LA :)

Good on ya James. We'll look forward to you starting off our good deed for the forum.

6 decoders installed and no problems except for the poor 44 tonners. the D13SR's just won't clear the shell, and the thing is such a tight fit it crushes the solder joints over and stops the unit working. The minute i lift the shell it's ok again, but unless I plan on running with a "lift kit" it's just no goodSigh [sigh]. Maybe I can get the N14 SR - it's shorter and narrower and just might do. All for now - it's getting on 3am and I'm starting to get a bit bleary eyed peering at little tiny wires. CUL,Zzz [zzz]J.R.
