Good late evening everyone.

I finally got my car in for an oil change today. Yay! Now it's ready to make the trip to Ocean City this Friday. That'll be almost five hours of driving. Good thing me and my older brother are going to alternate between us. And having two vehicles for eight people is great, too.[:D] I can't wait. Maybe I'll tan this year, instead of come back lovely shades of pink, red, and purple.[B)]

I may be doing a little railfanning tomorrow morning before work. I love being able to drive.[8D]

I'll talk to you all later. It's bed time for me.[|)]

Evening Gang: Well it's two days off and than the week end duty. On the week ends I get the park turned on and checked out and then just stay out of sight and trouble.

Fergie: Check my reply to your post. like I said I've had no trouble so far. My curves are very broad. They are over 36in and 38in on the main line.

Steve: I'm very sorry to hear about your friend. I'll keep his family and friends in my thoughts.

***: The OJ tankers sound like a great idea.

Trent: Put me down for one.

Well I guess I'll hit the sack. have a Good Night All

STEVE Sorry to hear about your friend, it really is hard to understand why people split after such a long time together and all the memories with family, etc.
I hope you operation is soon, sinus problems are really annoying, I have several friends that suffer from the same malady. Hang in there Steve!!

INCH53 Mike, that is real good news on the Stress Test and the Dye test. It is always a good feeling when the results are OK. Make sure you do plenty of walking Mike, it is the best exercise over all the rest.

Fergie The curve radius isn't the problem is it? Have you also checked the pickups for mfg residue oil, etc. giving your loco poor pickup? Give it a "stress test" for stall current also.

There goes the Supper bell, Spaghetti and Meatballs.....YES !!!!!!!!!![dinner][dinner]

Good Afternoon All

KenL: Doing the ballasting thing eh?!? I just finished the freight yard and will be setting the ballast next rain day. As far as mixtures go they vary. I normally do a 5% soap, 45% alcohol, 45% water and the remainder I add India Ink and a dash or two of water based burnt sienna just to make it all grungy and grimy. Works real well!

Paul: I got the 2-10-2 today and hopefully what I'm experiencing is teething pains as it seems to hopping the rails and running a bit slow and rough. Any thoughts?

Well that's it for me as supper is almost up.

Later Gents

Der you might try cutting a coffee can in half ( or just a piece of metal ) just big enough tolet the door open. but keep the birds away from it, and putting it over it , till after nesting season

Steve Sorry to hear of your friend. Our prayers be with his famaly and freinds

Hello everyone
i have lost all track of things in here of late, hope you are all well.
It's been a tough few week's trying to get the house extension done, and i have developed an alergy to accohol, even though i drink very little i have a very bad time breathing if i as much as taste some, i'm sick of waiting for the surgery on my sinus's and stuff. As if that were not bad enough a close friend at work took his life after a bust up with his wife of over 30 years, at the funeral over 500 people came to the service and his daughter read a poem, all very emotional stuff.

take it easy folk's

Good afternoon gents...another spectacular day here today...69 right now and clear skies, but we have showers and clouds due by evening. I tried to burn the last pile of bru***oday, but all of central and eastern Mass is under a Red Flag due to high winds and dry conditions, so we have to wait until after the showers tonight.

Did any of you guys get the email from Internet Trains yesterday? They are giving $10 certificate towards your next purchase for checking out their new website and ordering something of $10 value or more. The web site really looks good to me, easy to navigate.

Well, time to get back out and complete the outside work.....have a great afternoon guys, and have fun !! PS watch out for the alligators.

Almost Afternoon Gang:

Der: That is one big gator. I have found a fellow in South Carolina that does exactly what would look good. He has a 6ft 5in gator full hide treated for $1650 shipping and handling included. The thing looks really awsome. I'm going to get with the boss this afternoon and see what he thinks. I'll guess he'll be awed by it and tell me that it's too much money.

Ken: I've heard that using alcohol instead of soap works very well. In fact in one of the articles I think that they used straight alcohol. It would dry faster.

Well lunch is uninspiering. Left over chicken strips and french fries from Monday. The thing is that it saves $3 to put for more train things.

I'm going to head out and read the new copy of Trains Magazine. Have a good day.

Howdy y'all. I have nothing to do here in school. I have finished my term paper, and am now waiting for lunch.

Ken M: How do you want me to send you a copy of the paper?

Trolley Rob: I have had plenty of roller derby experiences. Pushing and shoving during races. Sliding some ten to fifteen feet on the floor. Running into walls, almost going over a few. Yeah, I've done it.[:D]

Catch y'all later tonight, after I get my car in for an oil change.[C):-)]

..no, but you may have to hide from this one![(-D]

Ken L:

…I’m feeling your pain, which is why most of my layout remains unballasted. I especially relate to your remark yesterday about the stuff getting onto the inside of the rails. At least now that I’ve modified the turnouts, when I finally paint the rails the odd bit of paint on the point rail contact won’t matter.[tup]

PC: The Amish joke had Kris groaning too![(-D] It’s going out to friends this afternoon. LOL.

Grackle wars continue. To replace the old vent is a major task, given its position, and the glue with which it was installed. The creatures pecked the flap off and were building again this morning. Getting the flap back on will perhaps be best achieved with a duct tape hinge. But, guess what? we are out of duct tape [:O] How could that have happened?[B)]

Morning everyone,

Not much new stuff to report on my end. Appears I wasn't mixing enough liquid detergent with my pre-soak water for the ballast yesterday, that's why it kept beading and eroding my carefully-manicured mounds. Increasing the soap density helped but it didn't totally eliminate the problem. I guess a lot of my discomfort results from knowing that this is a "fate-sealing" task - any tracklaying defects that I have not yet discovered will become permanent or, at the very least, 100 times more difficult to correct, once the ballast hardens.

T-Rob: About the trade - no thanx! BT/DT...

Paul: Your boss must think very highly of you if I believes you can read his mind so he doesn't have to tell you what you need to get until right before you need it [:D]...I know what that is like! Hope your day gets better...

Phillip - That joke is priceless, I'm sharing it with my coworkers[tup]...

Inch - Good luck with that stress test, both getting thru it and getting decent results back.

RT - If you're looking for sample club by-laws, try a website of any well-known club (such as Baltimore's BSME) and email them - I bet they can send you an electronic version of their bylaws document.

Hope I didn't miss anybody. Prayers for those who need them. Back later!

No coffee or anything, gotta fly, thanks.

Stopped by the gas station today. Looked at my gas gauge and this is what I saw....

QUOTE: Originally posted by trolleyboy

I'll second that!

And now for the joke of the day!

The Amish Elevator

An Amish boy and his father were in a mall.

They were amazed by almost everything they saw, but especially by two shiny, silver walls that could move apart and then slide back together again.

The boy asked, "What is this Father?"

The father (never having seen an elevator) responded, "Son, I have never seen anything like this in my life, I don't know what it is."

While the boy and his father were watching with amazement, a fat old lady in a wheel chair moved up to the moving walls and pressed a button. The walls opened and the lady rolled between them into a small room. The walls closed and the boy and his father watched the small circular numbers above the walls light up sequentially. They continued to watch until it reached the last number and then the numbers began to light in the reverse order.

Finally the walls opened up again and a gorgeous 24 year old blonde stepped out. The father, not taking his eyes off the young woman, said quietly to his son................

"Go get your mother."

Morning All: Notice I didn't say good morning. I'm at work and thought I'd make a quick duck in for a cup of coffee. Zoe if you would be so kind as to get me a cup to go.

Mike: I,m with you on that stress test. They did one on me once but they had to use drugs because I couldn't walk. That was a real bummer.

Well I may as well get at it. I'm trying to find stuff for theming the new rides. We have to open them in two weeks so it's ru***ime. Of course the boss knew about this stuff months ago but didn't tell us untill last week. Anybody know where I can get a fake alligator hide about 8 ft. long?

Have a good one.

Oh, we'v had a 3 bin compost system (about 1 cubic metre each bin) for about 6 years now. In fact our squash for the winter came from the "ready to use" bin last summer, and were magnificent. It's just that the same compost transfered to the ground and planted with Zucchini plants from the nursery didn't produce more than about 3 half sized Zs from 4 plants.[:O] [%-)] [banghead]

Lunch(eon) would be mid-day, although to be understood around here, we have to say dinner.[:D] [dinner]
Mike: The" Last Supper" would have been a Passover Seder, and would most likey have begun at 6:00p.m. or there abouts.
