Others have gone before you and it was never an issue unless you advertise your services. I think this is a wonderful opportunity to find out what the rest of us want and can't see Bergie taking offence. I have found the moderators to be fairly reasonable here but if your concerned just drop them a line.

Evening all, long time no see. Since it's been so long, I'm not even going to try to find my last post or read everything.

Haven't been around for a few weeks because my mother sold her house to downsize to a mobile home. I spent a few days helping her clean out the garage and storage shed, a few more days building an 8X12 deck on the back of the mobile home and putting hand rails around the front porch, and I'm still working overtime. Add to all that trying to keep up with my own house work and I feel like I haven't had a chance to breathe the past few weeks.

Cleaning the garage and shed were a real pain. I love my father but the man was a pack rat, definitely a child of the great depression, I don't think he ever threw away anything. We cleaned out coffee cans full of bent nails, his rational was "you can straighten them out and use them again". There were jars and cans full of assorted bolts, screws, nails, washers, and nuts that were so rusty and battered they were useless. There was even a drawer full of old spark plugs he took out of his cars when you could still do your own tune-ups at home. Some were probably 30 years old.

Today was finally the actual moving day. With the help of some men from her church we had all the heavy stuff moved before lunch. Then I spent the rest of the day helping her rearrange things in the mobile home. Am I ever glad that is over!

Tomorrow all I have to do is mow my grass, that will take about two hours. The rest of the day I'm going to spend reading my new MR that just arrived today and losing myself in the basement to work on trains. I really need some down time.

I noticed an unfamiliar name or two getting to the last page tonight so a hearty [#welcome] to any new folks here in the CS. It's a nice place to hang out.

Think I'm going to crash a little early tonight. I need to some [zzz]. See you later.

Evening All: We got the corral gate re-hung to day after work. I built the thing out of steel fench sections that the park was taking out. To say it is heavy is an understatement. The only way to lift it is with the loader on the tractor.

John and Mary Ann made the trip to Mineral Wells for the hay with out misshap. That makes 9 bales hauled about 68 to go.

So far we have nothing planned for tomorrow when I get home so maybe I can get to the basement. Monday I'm going to call Walthers and see if they have my ore cars yet. Since they are advertising them I assume that they have them.

Well I'm going to wrap this up and head to bed.

Sorry Ladies, but I can't eat a thing tonight. Had BBQ pork ribs, wild rice, field peas, cracklin corngread, and blackberry cobler for desert. and let me tell you I ate like it was my last meal.

Know about some of those receipts for roadkill. Mom is researching right now for a receipt book that was printed a few years back. The main subject of the book is roadkill. If she can find it I will post some of the better receipts.

Well worked on the layout this morning. Got a little done before in got to hot. Went to Wally-World and Hobby Lobby this afternoon. Boy I hate going shopping with her. I go in, get what I want, check out and come home. She has to walk up and down every aile in the store and some of them a couple times. A thirth-minute shopping spree takes all afternoon.

Another nice day for here today through Tue. Cookout was Ok; I had some fresh bluegill instead of hamburgers or hotdogs

Deb doesn’t weed, so I don’t to worry on that part either.

Neal , that recipe isn’t in a cookbook it’s my own, but I think I’ve seen one like before and it had some good in it.
Crawfish, gater, mussels, and that is all top line eaten, bout all the kids an grandkids sure like’m. I think gater is one of my favorites, if it’s not to dry.

PC , guessin we’ll have to get the girls to fix a big pot of road kill stew in here one day, so you kin try it. I gots a couple coon in the freezer now. Look at it this way, it’s all natural ingredients, no preservatives.

Not a lot going on today, normal Sunday morning stuff, need to do so mowing, which I hate doing on Sundays, plan on some train time and upload some pics from yesterday for posting.

Good Morning All,
First trip to the coffee shop. I hear the foods good, the coffee's hot and the conversation is excellent. I am currently in the process of packing up the house for the great re-location to Georgia. Unfortunately the train layout was dismantled and the trains, buildings, scenery and usable stuff placed in storage until the moving truck gets here in about two weeks. It's a shame because with all the rain we have had here in N.Y. these were great "Trains Days" as my two sons call them. Can't mow the lawn, it's raining. What to do ? Let's go work on the layout and run some trains. That's all for now, I have to place my breakfast order. John

Attaboy - I'm kinds of in the same situation with my parents. Both are still alive but not kicking as they used to. So I have been helping them "rightsize". Gee did my Mom save stuff!![:0] The move is at the end of the month. Sad to see the old house go but it will be much easier on my parents to manage the smaller home.

Good morning everyone, cloudy, cool and showers at times, same as last two days. We have now had 5.41" of rain since June 1st, so we are officially over the entire months average rainfall already....so shut off the spigot already...send it to AZ, NM, etc. they need it. The grass is higher than an elephants armpit!!! Hey PAUL , do you have any goats or sheep down there in Texas that need summer pasturing?? Send them via CSX to Rochdale, Ma , CSX Mainline siding #2 at Agway store.
Yesterday I was lucky enough to get all the parts I needed to repair the Troybilt Rototiller (tiller section), even the PTO dog clutch. Of course I had to drive to three places to get all the parts, but at least I didn't have to order any parts and wait weeks to get them.
Today it's off to Med City in Worcester, Ma for annual Cancer survivors Day big shindig, all kinds of events, food, etc. they do a great job at this hospital. I can't believe it has been 4 years since Prostate removal. We are fortunate today to have tests that catch this men's cancer early ( as long as men get their annual PSA test ) Don't forget guys, every year for this test after age 50, and earlier if you have a family history of this cancer.

INCH53 Mike!!! Great recipe' for raod kill!! We usually boil the roadkill a while to make sure it didn't have rabbies. You know when critters stand up in the middle of the road and flip you the bird, that is usually a good sign that they have lost their mind as you bear down on them doing 50. LOL

Hey guys, its been a few weeks since I've been here.

I had one cup of coffee so far and am overheated, its only 7:50 am and 90 degrees on the patio.
So, before the garage gets to 105 I think I should head out there and cut some more gaps in my rail as yesterday the 100+ caused a few problems.

Hope everone is well and please keep the modeling photos in the main threads as it seems like we hide them here sometimes. What a shame.[;)]

Hi All: I just got through spending another $500 of the companys money. I'm glade it's not mine except in the case of more ore cars.

It's hot here again. We usually don't get this kind of heat untill July but its been here since the last of April. What rain we have had has been eaten up by the heat. The grass is getting brown and not growing. I called our hay baler last night and he's coming in about 10 days. If we could get some rain before then it would help. I've got to do some cleaning on the creek crossing and some repair on the same. First I need to change the oil in the tractor with the loader. It's been awhile.

Other than that not much to report. I've been doing some more thinking on the new layout. I still have some things I'd like to refine but most of it is looking like it will work out. It had better because come heck or high water this is the last one.

I'm going to check out and get ready for the drive home. I'll see you all tonight.

Hey guys,
Thanks for the hearty welcome. The company and food's so good I came back for dinner. To answer a few of your inquiries, I model in H.O. Scale and favor the New York Central, among other Northeastern Railroads. I currently live on Long Island and am in the process of moving to Lawrenceville, Georgia. I have two boys, one who is a diehard PRR fan and the other a B&O, E.L. and whatever other colors look nice kinda guy. The move is expected in about three weeks depending on the lawyers involved. The layout was billed as the New York Central and Eastern as we are on the Eastern side of the Island in Suffolk County.The NYC&E layout is in storage and will be making the move in many pieces. It was housed in a 10x18 shed on our property originally built for any move we may make so we could take it with us. Unfortunately the area where we are moving prohibits such out buildings so it had to go. A shame as there was a considerable investment in it as it was totally finished with heat electric, finished sheetrock etc. Oh well, life goes on. The house has a nice sized basement for the next version of the New York Central & Eastern, or maybe the New York Central & Southern. Thanks again for the great welcome. John

There is a painted G.N. with front and rear cabs. Yes it is electric with dual cantenaries.

BIGCITYTHOMAS Hope you like it in GA. I use to live in FL about 15 miles south of GA. (Tallahassee) Now in VA. Theres a couple from AL in here Flip in FL. and think there may be a couple in GA have one I know in N.C. and about 4 of us in VA.
Anyway [#welcome] I'm the real odd ball in this forum I'm the only one that collects the 3 rail stuff theres a couple in here have some 3 rails but most of them are 2 rail modlers. I like the expensive stuff you know #100.00 for a cheap engine all the way up (way out of my pocket book area) $5000.00 + for the expensive ones.

I collect mainly old Lionel my oldest set is an 1931 train set.

Well we had our company picnic today not anything real big but not bad either as they had a nice meal and good to see other employee's from the other 3 plants.

It is a greenfield site (i.e. new) Coal mine in NSW (Australia) near Mudgee (Link Below). It si Open Cut, I don't think they are using Drag Lines to take off the overburden. Just Cat Trucks and excavators, is that the equipment you are talking about, in the Pit or are you interested in the Plant itself?

Did they leave a mess too? It wouldn't be complete if they didn't.

Paul: We changed over to Amsoil synthetics this year. It's more expensive per unit, but they recommend a 15,000 mile change in vehicles and 300 hours in trucks and tractors, which actually makes it cheaper than conventionals. It's slicker too, and stands up to heat better. They have a website if you're interested.
