QUOTE: Oh, and siberianmo- I know your pain now, having ordered the SD38-2s all of ...3 hours ago, I wonder whats taking them so long getting here. Is there any kind of madication you could recommend? Ooops, I thought I spelled medication wrong, but now that I look back on it, that might be a better spelling in this case. From your posts, I know the only cure is holding them in your hands. To quote Dr. Smith- Ohhh the pain, the pain!
QUOTE: siberianmo, congrats on getting a real-time internet connection, you'll soon be wondering how you ever survived without it!
QUOTE: Si: LHS in Thule? Ya your probably right but it's nice to dream. I won't even try to tell you about some of the "fine establishments" I've ventured into, remembering safety in numbers. Have you been to St John's Newfoundland? In 1982 the official Coast Guard Bar Count for the place was 250, and that was within a 1.5 nautical mile radius. I suspect the boys never made it past that point.

Appears as if the cat is out of the bag (hmmmm, another cat reference - wondering WHAT in the world I'm think abut?) with the "fine establishments" reference. One would think that sailors frequent places serving the spirits. Heavens! Yes - I've been to St. Johns, Nfld so many times that I honestly cannot give you the number. We'll have to continue this dialogue in our e-mails though - wouldn't want to shock any of our RRding friends! Oh yes - you must be referring to YOUR Coast Guard bar count. A couple of decades before your reference, MY Coast Guard opened and closed the bars located within sight of the pier - all of them! Alas, that was then, and here we are today. Time marches on .......

Thanks guys, this comradere is what this forum is all about. Hope everyone else whose families were having health issues came out as well as we did. He has been running his trains quite a bit the last few days, so we are replacing the green paper with green grass. Movin' on up. Take care all, Tim
QUOTE: Well I went to the LHS and guess what? The MESS went and "Dieselized" Yes say it's not true They had RDC1 on for $69 - my 10% discount. Dad bought it for me as it brought back memories. Thanks Dad! It's done in Dominion Atlantic livery, for those who have never heard of the DAR, it was a subsidiary of CP and operated solely in the South Shore of Nova Scotia. It ran between Yarmouth, Digby, Truro, and Windsor Junction with trackage rights to Halifax.
