Mchenery lower shelf couplers
Posted by john2wilm on Saturday, April 25, 2009 10:07 AM

Was wondering if anyone has tried or is using the lower shelf McHenery coupler with good or bad results?

I purchased a package of them, but have not started using them yet. I also have some of the kadee 118 couplers. Has anyone had any problems with these? I plan to put them on all my tank cars. Thanks for the help

John

Also a side note, can some one tell how to get the small picture in the left hand side of the post. I have not figured how to get anything in there, but would like to post the pic of my loco in it.

thanks

The McHenry's come with modern Athearn tank cars. They work fine, although I predict a chorus of "Kadee-only" will erupt as soon as I post this. As for the Kadee #118's, they are good couplers, as well, but so far I have not seen any reason to switch out the McHenry couplers for Kadee. John Timm

I have the Kadees on my passenger cars and the only problem is trying to uncouple them. Darn near impossible.
