Just a guess, but I think your right the second time. That he mounted the camera, took the first picture, set a timer, and moved into position for the other then overlaid the pieces. Yes no?

And is there only one other voice? I could swear I'm arguing with a board of directors sometimes.

Well, this proves I'm not the only one who has conversations with himself.  I attempt to avoid verbalizing them when others are around, but I'm not always successful.
