Morning all from Sunny(again!)Cal.
Well, the official word is out--we're at 49% of our snowpack for the year and if nothing else moves in until Spring, we'll officially be in a 3rd stage Drought condition for the second year going. The only saving grace is that it's still really COLD in the Sierra, so it's at least preventing an early runoff. There's a rumor afoot that our Pacific Ocan High Pressure system might break up next week and open some kind of storm door, but I've become pretty immune to those predictions. So far, almost every Major Storm that's supposed to have hit us this year has piddled out the minute it hits the Coast.
Interesting news on the School Front: That girls school that is going to close in June has recieved some unexpected help from the Diocese--our Bishop has come out publicly and said that every effort will be made to keep it open. The school--Loretto--is not a Dioscesan high school, it's run by a private order--the Sisters of St. Mary--whose home base is in Chicago. Whether this means transferring the high school TO the Sacramento Diocese or not, is kind of up in the air, but at least it's a start.
PC: Prayers to you for both a complete recovery, and the help you're offering to a friend. After having read your thoughtful comments over the past years, I think that if ANYONE can help him, it'll be you, my friend. And the fact that he may be a fellow model railroader might just be the key to helping him toward recovery. I'm a firm believer in the fact that when God closes a door, it's only to open a window.
Sue: Wise decision to wait 48 hours between pours on that WS Water. I did that on Bullard's Bar, and it's lasted seven years so far with nary a problem. Let's see some photos of that creek as you progress, huh? Your work always inspires me.
Well, the longer I have Remington, the more I think he's 'channeling' my late and sorely missed Lowell. Little things he does--a look, a stance, a chirp--just little things that were kind of 'peculiar' to that little gray Maine Coon. Common 'cat' things, but also little variations that were Lowell's alone. Anyway, he's sure becoming a buddy. And it looks as if Wiezl's here to stay for an extended period, so there's no end of entertainment running around the house--often at full gallop! And how can a 7-pound furball sound like a herd of buffalo running up and down the hall. Whew!
Well, haven't heard from Sunset yet about the Z-6, but the ads are all over the MR magazines, so hopefully it will be SOON! (he said, salivating).
Nice day today, so I'll be in the garage tinkering.
Best to all, prayers to those in need.
Tom
