Adding LEDs/Mini bulbs to Athearn RTR loco - how to mount?
Posted by elansp on Thursday, January 8, 2009 10:39 PM

All-

I have a P42 that I'd like to add RED parking/reverse lilghts to.  I purchased some 3mm red LEDs but I cannot figure out how to mount them (i.e. keep them pointing straight out of the front of the engine).  I'm thinking I may have to cut a piece of cardboard and glue it to the inside of the roof and have the LEDs lay on it so that they are parallel to the track.

Anyone have any comments/suggestions?

If I can't figure it out I was going to get 1.5v 1.2mm red grain of wheat bulbs and just drill out the red plastic and slide these puppies in and run the wires right to the board (I don't think I need any resistors).

Thanks,
