howmus AggroJonesMagnificent! My sentiments exactly! Looking at where the layout was a year ago and what it looks like now is always a fun thing. This year the Seneca Lake, Ontario, and Western RR went as follows:The area at the end of the Yard lead looked like this last May. (notice the falls..... want to be on topic here. )

Aggro, Ray,
Thank you both for the compliments. I was pleased with the way Bedford Falls area turned out despite some foobies in the process. It turned out to be very close to the picture I've had in my mind for that area for many years. When I finished the falls, I wondered if it really was as good as it looked to me or if I was kidding myself. It's nice to know others appreciate it as well. Makes the many hours of effort worthwhile. There are some things in the scene I think I could do better if I had it to do again, but over all, I'll take what I got.
Ray, your before and after pics make me wish I had taken some in progress photos along the way but its too late for that. I like what you have done. We are both modeling different areas of upstate New York. The modeled portion of my railroad is along the southern tier but the settings are very similar. It will be interesting to compare our efforts as we progress. I will continue to follow your progress on the S.L.O.W.

PS I find it curious we both gave the same paint treatment to different buildings in the Merchant's Row I kit. Compare your white building with red trim to mine.
No waterfall photos, but here are some of my recent projects.
I've been working on a new industry for my HO scale layout. I still need to add loads of details, a scratchbuilt covered hopper unloading shed, and some scenery.
I've also completed some new scenery at the West end of my White River Junction, VT yard.
It sure is enjoyable seeing the high quality work on here.
All I've been able to do on the n-scale layout this week is make soom trees. (Too much football going on). In keeping with the theme, they will be placed near water on the layout.
I finally got to finishing , well almost, an old tankcar.
I still need to finish the brakewheel

We'll get there sooner or later!
jecorbett The railroad bridge below the falls: Bruno's gas station was moved here from the opposite end of town. I think this gives it the more prominent place it deserves, A long view of the area. The scene to the right of this photo is a work in progress. Hopefully will have pics next week,

CSXDixieLineWell, this is gonna be a bit of a stretch to fit in to the water theme, but I just completed framing the base for my helix. In this picture, the lower level along the far wall (beyond the helix base) will feature the CSX crossing of the Etowah River just south of Cartersville, GA: Jamie

Wow, nice looking benchwork and a great looking train room. I can't wait to see it once you're done.....
Well, since we're on a 'water' theme this week, here's Mike and Billy skipping school and doing some illegal fishing on Bullard's Bar Reservoir.
What they don't realize is that Mr. Paine the Truant Officer also has a canoe.

Well, my layout isn't much to look at right now, so I'll share my latest acquisitions. It's been so long since I've posted pictures that I couldn't resist posting something.
My train show find. A P1k F3 AB in C&NW
Omaha Road 40' box car from accurail. Do you think I should paint the wheels?
My ebay purchase, Athearn heavyweight passenger train. I will be repainting these in C&NW colors as soon as I get an airbrush. The area in between the tracks is where my depot will go. As you can see, I have some work to do!

No no no....you're supposed to take pictures of great club layouts, and then claim them as your own. I've been doing that for years, and still these guys haven't caught on

Mister Beasley,
Looks like the scene has come along nicely.
One question. Are the painters ever going to finish the bridge?
One more question. Are you going to get a scale Tom Hanks figure to sit next to that mermaid?
wm3798Maybe water and waterfalls could be the theme this week, in keeping with the magazine cover
Well, that suggestion fits with my recent work. I've had a lot of layout time thanks to use-it-or-lose-it vacation, a company-wide holiday shutdown, and lots of snow. Thanksgiving weekend I started with this:
Now, Moose Bay finally has its water, along with a lobster boat and a mermaid:
It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.
Jeff, you've got one beautiful layout there!
As for myself, I haven't been doing an awful lot on my layout, but I did manage to build one of the two structures that make up the McGraw Oil Co. (Walthers) and have it on the layout in a temporary fashion. It'll be a while to I get to this area for any detail work.

John,
Thank you for the compliment.
Lee,
Outstanding work......per usual.

Last spring I had completed the scenery to the edge of the town of Bedford Falls. The past two months, I have been working on the scenery to the east of town. Here are a few pics:
