Last spring I had completed the scenery to the edge of the town of Bedford Falls. The past two months, I have been working on the scenery to the east of town. Here are a few pics:
The falls at Bedford Falls:
The railroad bridge below the falls:
Bruno's gas station was moved here from the opposite end of town. I think this gives it the more prominent place it deserves,
A long view of the area. The scene to the right of this photo is a work in progress. Hopefully will have pics next week,
Nice pictures! EXCELLENT job on the falls! Can't wait to see next weekends pics you post. Keep up the great work.

Maybe water and waterfalls could be the theme this week, in keeping with the magazine cover

John,
Thank you for the compliment.
Lee,
Outstanding work......per usual.

Jeff, you've got one beautiful layout there!
As for myself, I haven't been doing an awful lot on my layout, but I did manage to build one of the two structures that make up the McGraw Oil Co. (Walthers) and have it on the layout in a temporary fashion. It'll be a while to I get to this area for any detail work.

Well, that suggestion fits with my recent work. I've had a lot of layout time thanks to use-it-or-lose-it vacation, a company-wide holiday shutdown, and lots of snow. Thanksgiving weekend I started with this:
Now, Moose Bay finally has its water, along with a lobster boat and a mermaid:
It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.
Mister Beasley,
Looks like the scene has come along nicely.
One question. Are the painters ever going to finish the bridge?
One more question. Are you going to get a scale Tom Hanks figure to sit next to that mermaid?
I took this at a train show, this is from a club out of Dallas, I forgot the club name (sry) but some nice work here, and it fits the theme,

No no no....you're supposed to take pictures of great club layouts, and then claim them as your own. I've been doing that for years, and still these guys haven't caught on
Happy New Year --I have been watching WPF and enjoy all the great photos Thanks so much. but I think I had not posted images or video since Jan 2007.

Well, this is gonna be a bit of a stretch to fit in to the water theme, but I just completed framing the base for my helix. In this picture, the lower level along the far wall (beyond the helix base) will feature the CSX crossing of the Etowah River just south of Cartersville, GA:

Well, my layout isn't much to look at right now, so I'll share my latest acquisitions. It's been so long since I've posted pictures that I couldn't resist posting something.
My train show find. A P1k F3 AB in C&NW
Omaha Road 40' box car from accurail. Do you think I should paint the wheels?
My ebay purchase, Athearn heavyweight passenger train. I will be repainting these in C&NW colors as soon as I get an airbrush. The area in between the tracks is where my depot will go. As you can see, I have some work to do!
Well, since we're on a 'water' theme this week, here's Mike and Billy skipping school and doing some illegal fishing on Bullard's Bar Reservoir.
What they don't realize is that Mr. Paine the Truant Officer also has a canoe.

Wow, nice looking benchwork and a great looking train room. I can't wait to see it once you're done.....

AggroJonesMagnificent!
My sentiments exactly!
Looking at where the layout was a year ago and what it looks like now is always a fun thing. This year the Seneca Lake, Ontario, and Western RR went as follows:The area at the end of the Yard lead looked like this last May. (notice the falls..... want to be on topic here. )And now looks like this.Yard track at Hopewell Junction looked like this back then. Now has a few changes......The farm at the top of the hill looked like this last January.....Now looks like this (from the other side).
Ray Seneca Lake, Ontario, and Western R.R. (S.L.O.&W.) in HO
We'll get there sooner or later!
I finally got to finishing , well almost, an old tankcar.
I still need to finish the brakewheel
It sure is enjoyable seeing the high quality work on here.
All I've been able to do on the n-scale layout this week is make soom trees. (Too much football going on). In keeping with the theme, they will be placed near water on the layout.
No waterfall photos, but here are some of my recent projects.
I've been working on a new industry for my HO scale layout. I still need to add loads of details, a scratchbuilt covered hopper unloading shed, and some scenery.
I've also completed some new scenery at the West end of my White River Junction, VT yard.

Aggro, Ray,
Thank you both for the compliments. I was pleased with the way Bedford Falls area turned out despite some foobies in the process. It turned out to be very close to the picture I've had in my mind for that area for many years. When I finished the falls, I wondered if it really was as good as it looked to me or if I was kidding myself. It's nice to know others appreciate it as well. Makes the many hours of effort worthwhile. There are some things in the scene I think I could do better if I had it to do again, but over all, I'll take what I got.
Ray, your before and after pics make me wish I had taken some in progress photos along the way but its too late for that. I like what you have done. We are both modeling different areas of upstate New York. The modeled portion of my railroad is along the southern tier but the settings are very similar. It will be interesting to compare our efforts as we progress. I will continue to follow your progress on the S.L.O.W.
PS I find it curious we both gave the same paint treatment to different buildings in the Merchant's Row I kit. Compare your white building with red trim to mine.
Great job, Everyone.
Tom, At least skipping school in sunny Ca is more comfortable than here. The humor is great.

Anything is possible if you do not know what you are talking about.
Not very interesting I know, "BUT" it took HOURS to get the extra junk off
of this "bench" the wife liked so well. Painted and clean I can now get back to work!!
and a pic of a guy mowing
(my apologies) no tripod used....
Dang I posted a photo of my layout above but did not comment on the other outstanding posts (sorry--was taking a quickie "goof off" break at the office when I posted earlier today ) Anyway, these WPF threads are really motivational--love to see all the great work being done in so many different eras & scales. Almost like getting a mini "Great Model Railroads" issue each week! Jamie
HEEEYYYY!!! With such great modeling from you guys, WHY is this way down on page two!
Love the pics and love the modeling. Outstanding work from everyone. Thanks for posting!

tigerholm2 -Cool vids and layout! I love all the B&O equipment.
Looks like everyone is off to a good start in this new year. WOW!!!!!
I had some time to do a little work on scenery while I was off work over the holidays.
A KCS Geep. Jeffery Wimberly should realize this loco. (If you notice the Golf Clubs in the background, they're mine. I golf a lot.)
My new DPDT switch with a work light on top.
Great photos all! I hope all of you enjoy mine!
