I am looking for track maintenance vehicles in HO scale. I work in a voluntary capacity in that area and want to display modern vehicles. i already have Bachmann's speeder (based on an ST2 Fairmont)

Check out Walthers website for manufacturer #247, Custom Finishing, they have quite an extensive line of MOW equipment.  Here's a tamper that I quickly found:

For older track maintenance equipment check out Durango Press.  They have a tie shear, tie crane, spike puller, tie cart, crew car, and several speeders. All appear to be in stock at Walthers.

I tried to sell my two cents worth, but no one would give me a plug nickel for it.

I don't have a leg to stand on.

Vollmer made some Plasser stabilizers and I think a ballast plow as well.  A few online shops have them still.  Bachmann made a Plasser track geometry car back in the 80's that is still widely available at swap meets and ebay.

http://www.walthers.com/exec/productinfo/160-16948 is a balast vehicle from Bachmann.  They also have/had a ballast tamper - both are in the Spectrum series as your speeder.  Smile

Exactly what is it you volunteer for?

I am a volunteer in a group based near Waga Wagga, New South Wales, in SE Australia. W deal in standard gauge full size stuff and have a number of vehicles, both privately owned and organization owned or permanently on loan from our state owned railway. we are currently going through accreditation with our safety regulator and are awaiting the next move, so to speak.

We have M19, MT19 and ST2 Fairmont speeders (trikes in local speak) and a number of different Department vehicles, based on Wisconsin 12 hp and VW motors, as well as a Trackman. These vehicles were manufactured either in house or were subcontracted out to a local manufacturer.

I'll be in further touch

They were made by Kibri.
