This site is just not acting right when it comes to pictures. Main thing I have done so far this weekend is clean up the train room / garage! It was well over do. Threw out tow large trash bags of old used cork, foam scrap and beer cans. I found a bunch of stuff I forgot I had, like 40 trees, 4 turnouts and 2% foam risers. After using the shop vacuum and then ran a old house vacuum to get ride of the pink foam snow, after math of working on the new section.

All found some new music to play while I run the trains. With running mainly steam, blue grass seems to fit well, will all so look for some big band later.

I have added some Super Tress to K-10 Mining section. This picture shows a Monon Heavy Mike dragging a freight train North while a NYC is sitting, waiting to drag some empty to the mine through the Wye. Did I spell that right?

Been working on new room for future layout, got to put up ceiling, then get started on benchwork. Seems to be taking forever and I'm missing running trains, but with increase size it ought to be worth the effort.

Dug up one old pic to remind myself to keep pushing forward. Great work everybody!  Really look forward to the weekends and to see what everybody has done.

I, too, am posting old photos to check how they show up in the WPF.

The first photo is from my old layout and is hosted on trainboard.com.

The second photo is my first weathered car and is hosted on photobucket.

MisterBeasley

I'm having no speed problems at all with the whole new forum thing.  I look in on a number of forums every day, hosted by different groups with different software.  To be honest, I'm happy if they work.  I'm not too concerned about the differences from one to the other.  As I recall, we got about the same reaction here the last time there was a forum software change, and I'm sure it will happen next time, too.

But, and it's an even bigger but than my own, what is going on with the picture sizes?  It's not just "some are larger, some are smaller."  I was looking in here an hour or two ago, and Jarrel's steam shovel picture was small, while Tom's SP shot was huge.  Now I'm back after eating a small HO-scale Dove Bar ice cream, and Jarrel's picture has grown, while Tom's has shrunk!  This is just too weird, so I think I'll go run some trains or something.

I tried that. But some of my N Scale trains have grown to HO and some of the HO has shrunk to N. The real butch is that it's only the engines. Now the only way I can run is with GP 40's pulling 36 ft stock cars and 2-6-0's pulling 90 ton coal hoppers.

Mike, that has to be one of the most realistically weathered diesels I have seen.  Very convincing. Smile  Nice job on the grass, and the light is A-1.

Cuda Ken, I like how you are growing in the hobby.  Your layout is hugely improved.

Mike, that's an RS-2, not an RS-1, was that a typo? An RS-1 has the overhanging cab roof and a more squarish hood.

  Cheers, Crandell!

Thanks for the correction, Jay. You are correct it's an RS2. I don't know why I typed that it was an RS1 - I don't even have any of those Smile  Just the old brain playing up.

It has been at least 6 months since I worked on my layout - don't ask.  Of course that meant some serious cleanup efforts before I could even determine where I had left off.

This is where I left off.  I just recently added the lettering. Wish now (and maybe still will) that I had used a lighter shade of letters.

New power here on the WRS...

The Diesel is modern and impressive----but that TREE next to the grade crossing is magnificent!  Nearly 50 years ago, MR had an article on a club layout and used a sub-head "Why fall is the easiest season to model."  I wonder if I'd tire of it though...  I KNOW I'd soon tire of a constant winter!  Should we start a new thread on the subject?

StebbyCentral: Liking the UP streamliner. Those cars brass or walthers?

Twhite: I like the AC. Nice addition in front of an E7, been wanting both engines for a long time now... I was looking through your photobucket early today, and I must say your layout is my hands-down favorite that I know of now. Superb modeling, indeed.

Neither, I model in "N".  So those cars are KATO's newest UP offering.  Except for the RPO, which is my last remaining Atlas/Rivarossi.

I have figured out what is wrong with my brain!  On the left side nothing works right, and on the right side there is nothing left!

Old Photo!  Like alot of people, I am also not too crazy about the changes to the site. But whats done is done.  Life goes on!

Wanted to see what size this Photo came out. But have been working some on the layout.  Need to take some more Photos.

Lots of neat photos already posted this weekend.

Some very nice work everyone. I have been working on a new industry and finally have it ready. The industry is a plastics plant and I added to an existing structure that was donated to me. Built the new addition, added the siding, weathering and a few figures completed the scene.

I feel sorry for you fella's with poor memories. I myself have a perfect memory. Everything that I have ever done is locked in the deep, dark confines of my subconcious. My problem is that I forgot to pay the electric bill and the lights are out  up there so I just can't find my recall button to get anything to come back. Sort of like my page back button on this new Banged HeadBanged HeadBanged Head Forum design. It's a PITA having to Log out and Log back in just to go to the next thread or to go back to the previous page but this thread is worth the agravation. Great job everyone.

Now where did I put my coffee mug.

Oh! Here it is in my hand. Laugh

Looks like we're off and running again this weekend.....  Crandall, nice, very, very nice!

I have spent a bit of time detailing the yard track with the rusty Rails paint tool.  Here is a before:

And an after:

Tomorrow is the Lakeshores Division Meet so I should have some great photos to share on Sunday (I hope).

Love the depth in theses scenes.

How deep are they?

Ah, lucky duck. Kato would be nice to me if they offered their N stuff in HO.

Thank you Craig!  It is about 4 foot deep from where the camera is to the backdrop straight back.  Given the angle I would say you are looking at a depth of 5 foot or so.  I built this tablework back when I already knew everything........Wink

Well, I dont know how long it has been since my last WPF submission, but I have some this week!

I have been working on my new layout since the old one had to be torn down, the new one is smaller but I'm looking forward too it just as much.

Here are pictures of the track work so far with nothing being final, I still may change and alter some things. The track on the bottom right that appears to veer off the table will lead too the future removable staging yard that I have yet too start.

Overall it's going quicker then the last layout probably because this time around the benchwork was assembled for the most part, and I didn't have to go out and buy the styrofoam, track, and cork.

And this photo is something I got while I was in Atlanta, they appear too be windmill turbines on flat cars, the picture is a little fuzzy because I was in a car and didn't have much time too capture the photo. Thought they where interesting and big!

This pic is more "fun" than anything, taken a few weeks ago at the Cleveland Metro Park Zoo (only a few miles away was the big train show, but we didn't make it in time.)

Anyways, I saw these guys, & in the position they were in & the way they were looking, the captions almost wrote themselves on the spot! I knew I had to do a little work in paint with it. (I've heard railfanning referred to as "monkey business", but...) Big Smile
