Tom, lots of those rules are silly. Here self-defense is against the rules. Wish it wasn't, would have graded Magna *** Lade if it wasn't. (I had the class requirements, and the GPA requirement, didn't meet the abscence one)
Later today I'm going to the shooting range with by brother and father for some trigger time. Then were going to take my sis out for her B-day.Hopefully sometime today I'll order one of the new Athearn Genesis F45s in BN with sound/dcc for myself and my parents will order one for Christmas.

Hehe, of course, here's the plan:
The yard lead is the main that goes past the uyard, because the start of the line is the yard. To operate, you go counterclockwise, switching the three facing point sidings, roll back into the yard, but ignore it and focus on the main and A/D tracks, because they are now a passing siding. you switch ends w/ the loco (you've also supposedly "switched" a few industries not modeled), and switch the one trailing point siding that will be there on your return trip.

Well, this morning all I've done is listen to Pillar and hawk nelson, watch sportscenter, and keep working on my engine house, should have it almost done. It's going to look bad, but it's a learning kit b/c it's the first pikestuff one I've put together (man, those things LOOK tough but are super-easy, lol), and the first non-DPM one I've done, lol.

Backer-board is being laid as I type. Friday they will be back to start laying tile.
Wanted to buy an Atlas deisel the other day...just couldn't justify it after recent expenses. Besides, I still have no place to run trains yet. Hopefully soon though.
Wife is cleaning house today. I'm trying to stay out of her way. Kidding aside, I do my share.

Actually, I have all the track "laid". It'll come back up when i glue the foam down, and won't be secured until I get the roadbed for it. Also need to get more striaght track to fill in the yard tracks. Also, gonna wait to solder it until I can get the wire to wire it, lol.

I messed up one of the trucks on GP 30 yesterday...when I went to remove the old coupler pocket on trucks I broke one on the side frames..its over 30 years old so i think it might have been alittle brittle...I think I have located a replacement on N scale Yard Sale group...Also gotsome good news this morning I won't have to shut down Railroad for Christmas Caregiver and Sallie got a larger tree this year and they want to put it in front window..

So this is what it feels like to be 62? Hmmmm, feels the same as 61 and even 60...... Thanks for the good wishes Garry, Packers, Packers#1, and Gerry.
Lets see, zoe, i'll have a large cup of dark roast in a FGLKs mug and my usual bowl of raisin bran old person cereal. Gotta watch the diet now having reached adulthood. Although I still haven't figured out what I want to be when I grow up.
I turned on the Idiot Box last night to see if EXXXXTTTTREEEEEEEEEEM TRAAAAAAAAIIIINS!!!!!!!!!!! has improved this week. I watched the first 5 minutes or so when the phone rang and my sister was returning my phone call to her earlier. I figured that she had done this just to interrupt my dizzyness after the intro weird camera angles. (Or maybe more like to rescue me from it....) TV was on for an hour and a half before I got back into the room to shut it off. I think I will pass on the rest of that series. The Dream, Plan, Build Series Special Editions is much easier on eyes and ears, so I will throw them on the player if and when I get bored and tired.
Anyway, back to cleaning house. Today I really have to do that!

Yes it was a tough year and full of pain from the Cancer surgery and the radiation treatments
But for now i am Cancer free {at least till my next CT scan }
And while i lost my voice I can still run my trains and enjoy the hobby
I think we all have alot to be thankful for so i wish you the best Thanksgiving ever !!

It's overcast and drizzly out here in SunnyCal, but the Southern end of the state is evidently getting walloped by a storm--which doesn't bode well for all those areas that have just burned. Evidently evacuations are in order from mudslides. I hope it's not too serious.

Nothing much for Thanksgiving here--playing early Mass tomorrow, then come home and do a turkey roast for Mom and a couple of friends. The family's all scattered around the country, so no big dinner tomorrow. We'll save that for Christmas, when Dad (me) gets to do the Prime Rib. I have a secret, simple recipe that makes for an absolutely DYNAMITE roast. It includes rock salt and Dijon mustard and that's all I'll tell you.
Besides, turkey makes me sleepy, LOL!
I found the charger for the camera--as usual, it was lying right there staring at me--so I'll try and pop off a few photos for WPF this weekend. Maybe something that doesn't include a Yellowstone (oh, the horror of it all! )
I've been letting Remington and Spooky get together for about an hour or two the past several days, and so far so good. If he gets too curious, she just whacks him. No fights or spitting, so I think it's going to be a pretty good match. She seems happier now that she's got a new buddy, and Remi is just a big (16lb) overgrown goofy kitten, so beginning next week I'm going to let him have the run of the house. New cats take time, unless you ENJOY having the house destroyed! Of course, he's still looking at the locomotive case and plotting and drooling. It's gonna be fun!

I’m using the same stuff with cork roadbed and my friends are calling me “old fashioned” since all of them are using some variation of EZ-Track. Then again all I have to do to keep them quiet is show them the 41” radius curves on my mainline.

Lee, it's mainly snap track (.45 per piece at the LHS, that's why) and I just used some old flextrack when I ran out of straight pieces. 11" radius. I'm never using EZ track again, that stuff is a PITA! (yes Jeff, I know the stuff works for you, but not for me.) I'm going to keep using woodland scenics foam roadbed, no complaints about it, lol. Yeah, I've been making progress to, just got the foam glued down w/ liquid nails, put the track and structures back on, and secured the track w/ track nails, adding as much roadbed as I have, which isn't a whole lot, lol. now my back hurts from bending over so much (the table comes up to about my waist, I think).
Tom; 'Spring' did me a wake up call that involved his charging into the kitchen leap onto microwave>top of cupboard over sink>leap to cupboard over stove>onto kichen chair by so-called office amoire back into spare bedroom whereupon one hears a loud "MOOOWWW??"----only to see a repeat performance of such..and then people wonder why we collect strange twitches the older we get...

Of course, all our model railroad friends from Canada, Mexico, England, Germany, Australia, Sweden, and everywhere else are welcome to shrae in the festivities.
Here we are having family members from Ohio and Michigan. It will be a busy 4 days. Of course, when I show off the layout, no gremlins will distrub operations.
My gratitude this holiday will be similar to Texas Terry's although not at all the same. I certainly understand his suffering with cancer. I think Jeff has much to be thankful for, too. It's good the doctors can control diabetes for Jeff. In my case, as you know, I had a little heart surgery in May, and in August my heart acted up. In August, the defibrillator re-started my heart several times. I can now attest, that there is something waiting for us when our bodies die, and I am thankful to know that. I'm thankful to be allive. My layout needs more work!

Well, here at my house, the Turkey is thawing in the refrigerator, Winter Squash has been cooked down and ready to be baked, And don't tell PC, but the pumpkin pies are in the oven. Man do they smell good! I will be making my Grandmother's secret bread stuffing that is always a big hit along with mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, and, of course, some good Finger Lakes wine (I'm talking some of the best in the world made with local grapes grown on the shores of beautiful Seneca Lake)! My sister from Canandiagua will be bringing cabbage salad. Both my sons will be here and my daughter in law not to mention granddaughter. Both my sisters will be here as well.
We are trying out some Honey glazed Roast Venison. This ought to be interesting
We threw the mashed potatoes veggies and a gravy made with dk stout together as well and my sister is coming over the weekend (which is when we are doing this. ) to do all the above with us...
As for tomorrow I'm doing up something with cornish hens...
now if only I could find the tree plug...
