She MADE me get it! And last night she strongly suggested that I should get the Fender Acoustic/Electric Tele that I've been drooling over for a while. I'm onto her though! She wants a hot tub. Yeah, I've got her number!
OK folks, pie is on me today! Literally! (notice the avitar?)
'Cmon now, dig in!

I'm on my break between classes right now. When I get done with college for the day, I'm going to wire my SW15s in tandem, and put a light in the sound dummy for when the powered unit is in reverse. Last night I did someexperimenting, andfound the dummy was too light to maintain good contact. But since I am trying to get the powered one up to at least 12 (hoping for 16) cars up the club's helix, I'm just going to wire them together. The really thin lead sheets (1/32) I bought the other day is what I'm going to throw into the powered unit. I'm also going to put fishing weights (hoepfully I'll find something that fits good) under the holes in the cab floor.
The other day on Epay, I bought 6 P2K engines for 83 bucks shipped.

What it all is; SAL 1926 GP9 III, NYC GP7 IIs 5804 and 5809, NYC SW9 8946, Chessie [B&O] SW9 5256, B&O SW9 602) Now the question for me is what to do with them? I want more BN stuff, but I don't want to paint anything. Hopefully I'll find someone who is intrested in shell swapping.

Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....
2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.

I'm taking it you would have gotten it had you had the chance?
When I told the guys at the MR club about it they all (even the guy who won't buy proto due to the cracked gears) though I got a really good deal. Best part, there is a NYC nut there, maybe he'll take the NYC units.
Well, I'll be going off to college in a bit, thanks for the pie.
Afternoon, Zoe - a bowl of brocolli cheddar soup, some whole grain bread, and a root beer float please. Oh yeah, and a slice of apple pie with vanilla ice cream on top of it, since PC's buying. Thanks!
Vincent, I hope you wore a mask when you bought all those P2K locos at that price - what a steal! And if you sell the NYC ones, you're even more ahead on the deal. I'm gonna have to start watching those auctions more closely!
Rain (more like mist, actually) has arrived here in Cape G., so I figure by now that Jerry, Inch, Garry, and our Ohio River Valley Diners are likely getting some of it, too. Ducky weather, huh?
I'll slide into the corner booth and tend to lunch while I see who else is coming in to eat.

pcarrell So, it looks like California is going to get bullet trains. How about that? http://apnews.myway.com/article/20081105/D94925900.html LSWrrPC, your new gal is a Queen of a fat bottom girl for sure! Congratulations! (lets see who gets that comment). Oooo, I haven't tried playing that one yet on her. I'll bet that will sound awesome! (I know what I'm doing tonight!) Wish I knew some Metallica. I bet that would rock. (I really need to learn some christian rock. Love to jam some Linclon Brewster or something.)

ED : Cheers for that link, it will be alot of help to me.
Jim: You are pretty much right with the old design, But with my lack of time, I want to accomplish a relatively finished layout and a roughly 3' x 6' door would be manageable.

Evening Gang: Not a whole lot today. I worked on the flat cars most of the day. I got the one primed and decieded it was nice out so got the two others from the shed and worked on them. I cut two center sill pieces and clamped them in place then clamped the end sill plates on and got out the welder. After welding them on I flipped the cars and welded in the king pins. I messed up one a bit and had to weld up a large hole in the frame. Before I quite for the day I primed them so tomorrow I can do the finale colors and they will be ready for the decking. I'll still have to overhaul the trucks before I can mark them up as done. Oh yea I'll have to letter them. That actually getting easy as long as I can find the lettering sets.
Well I guess I'll hit the sack.
Good Night All
Good Evening Diners!
Well we are now getting the winter storm as promised. It was rainy and windy all day but now it is turning to sleet and supposedly snow before morning.
I just finished my first attempt at a hard wire decoder install into a Mehano 2-10-2. I used a Digitrax DZ125 decoder. It took the address but on the main it jerked forward a couple of times and now is just showing a short. I took off the boiler/cab to see if a wire was crimped but I can't see anything. Most frustrating as I haven't a clue as to what is wrong.
Not much else is new here so I'll just slip into a booth and sip on a coffee.

Well guys one work day down, one to go.
Watching some of the Browns vs. Broncos game. Its so so.
I haven't touched the layout much since I work 10 hour days. I am wanting to plaster the layout where I have the plaster cloth. Maybe move some lights around to. Probably do that Saturday.
I know my b-day is in 19 days. The BIG 29. Theres days I feel 100 and days I feel 8. Today I feel 28.
So.......I am hinting on a new engine. I am leaning towards another BLI, or just a decent Athearn engine. Either way it will be a Conrail patched to NS. I can have the best of both worlds.
I guess I will hit the sack. Gotta get up soon.
Have a good Friday, and can't wait to see "WPF."
"Rust, whats not to love?"
LOL, Robby, my vbirthday is in 16 days, on the 22nd.
Well it sucks when your b-day lands on Thanksgiving. Everything is closed, or it lands on black Friday. Where you don't wanna go anywhere.
But......when it does land on thanksgiving you get good food.
Why couldn't I have a conviently scheduled birthday loke that? Mine is three days after the 4th, of July.
Birthdays... mine was on "Labor Day"
Um ..... Did somebody mention "rain"? http://home.att.net/~hideaway_today/t133/noah.htm

Jeff, I got it yesterday, thanks.
My birthday is 11DEC, My Mom and Brother share the 17th.
Mom had a rule when I was growing up that birthdays and Christmas had to be separate, however that didn’t stop people from wrapping my birthday presents in Christmas paper.
My Son’s birthday is the 23 NOV some years it falls on turkey day some years not.
The Browns stadium is directly across the street from where I work. I pulled in yesterday morning and the parking lots were full of tail gate parties at 0700hrs in the morning. Gotta love the Browns Fan base. I pulled in this morning and the streets were littered with plastic cups, beer/pop cans up to my ankles.

Mornin' all!
Well, I caved! I bought a hot tub. It'll be about a month before it's here.....they have to build it. Anybody priced those things lately? Those prices are INSANE! I worked it though.........I not only have my new girlfriend that I showed you the other day, but Sunday we're going to go pick up the motorcycle I've been drooling over. THAT WORKS!
So whats up with all of you?

My mom has the same rule. Her birthday is the day after Christmas. My daughters birthday is Nov. 28, so hers is sometimes on turkey day, or real close to it.
Hello everybody....
If you have time for humor, you may wish to click the link I posted last night. I thought it to be funny enough to share with the diners.
Another note. I see CA voters approved HIGH SPEED RAIL connecting LA and SF. Bravo to them. I think it is past time for the country to get back on track. It bothers me to this day, that USA replaced its passenger trains with highways. Hopefully, common sense is returning to America. We will never again see Burlington's fleet of Zephyrs or Santa Fe's fleet of Chiefs for example. America had the best trains in the world in teh 1950's.
It's a good thing we have model railroading! Zephyrs continue serving the Heartland Division!
Happy Model Railroading!
Morning, Zoe, PC, Lee, Jerry. Garry Zoe, I'll have some scrambled eggs, strips of bacon and some toast with blackberry jam, oh yeah, and cup of coffee and glass of orange juice. Thanks!
PC, when you score big, you score BIG! Wanna adopt me? So, when are we all invited by to try out the hot tub (after you and the family have, of course)?
Jerry, guess that supergluing will work, but I sure hope you don't have to replace the coupler anytime soon. Sounds like you're making good progress there.
Lee, if you had a big bunch of trash bags, you could really 'clean up' by taking the cans by your recycling place for Oh, and my birthday comes up a week after your son's is (the Sunday after Thanksgiving Day this year).
Garry, I liked that piece you linked to last night - soooo true! I would agree with you, that the passenger trains in the 1950's looked better than some of the current crop does. But then again, I've liked the Santa Fe liners that they had.
My birthday was enough before Christmas that I got a chance to play with whatever toys I'd get for my birthday, and if I broke 'em or got bored, by Christmas I'd have another chance at some. Nah, I usually wasn't that hard on my toys...
Decided that I can put together my Rix grain bin this weekend - that won't require kitbashing to fit to space when I go to locate it on my layout. Want to start on some of my Accurail kits, too. I was thinking this morning (in the thinking room...) and decided that I'm going to ask for my birthday and Christmas for a digital camera (or funds toward it, anyway). I'm tired of having to settle for cell phone pics (and that level of 'quality') in order to post a pic here (or anywhere).
It's Friday, and I'm hoping for a nice calm day. It's nice and sunny today, now that the rain front has moved through, and the fall colors are really nice out. One of my co-workers said he wanted to play hookey today (but he came in anyway). I can understand that!
Let me join you guys there. Zoe, could I have a refill on my coffee, please? Hope everyone has a fun day and some MRR'ing time this weekend (including you, Robby!)
Blessings and prayers for those in need of 'em,
