Good Morning from Tipton IN !

Near a cornfield in Indiana...
Good morning. It's 66 and very cloudy. The high will be around 75 and it will be partly cloudy. I got a break in the weather yesterday and got out the filter material, blended turf and spray paint and made the hedgerows I've been planning for the past week. Today I'll start on putting them in place. The location must be prepared first. The lichen that's now there must be removed and the dried glue needs to be taken off the surface. Hope I have a couple of hours to rub together. Good morning all,
Paul, I hope you’re feeling better soon.
Well I woke up to 3” of fresh snow this morning and its still coming down but its starting to change into freezing rain. I-90 wasn’t salted or plowed this morning so 25mph was the top speed so my 15 minute commute turned into 45 minutes.
I hope everyone had the chance to see my pictures. Those people were 100 for $2 plus $2 shipping from WEHONEST on the bay. Only took 15 hours to paint them all.
Jim, are you using a MAC? If you want pictures of the team track shoot me an email and I’ll send you some pictures.

Good morning peoples! Boy it just looks lovely today---expecting a high of -3C with barrels of snow--between 6-10" of the stuff---and I get to drive in it!
I started corrugating the aluminum cookie sheets I got from the local dollar store--they will do just fine--the sheets are stiff enough that won't crumble with any pressure which makes the corrugations easier to do---no tearing has happened,yet...

I just started my blog site...more stuff to come...

Good morning. Black coffee, please. We have 20 degrees this morning. With all this snow, it is so pretty out.
Vincent, Great job of weathering. The boxcar is my fav.
Lee, We have lots of coyotes, a few cougars, and even an occasional bear, but no red foxes. Great score on the figures. I found painting figures to be one of the most boring parts of modeling. Did you attach them to a nail so you could handle them?
Sue
Anything is possible if you do not know what you are talking about.
Mornin' everyone!
"Oh the Weather Outside is frightful, but the fire is so delightful........... Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!"
The Finger Lakes is getting dumped on, so today has been officially canceled. Says so on R-News out of Rochester. That which isn't already closed will be soon. Weather warning includes:
SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS TODAY WILL RANGE FROM 6 TO 10 INCHES WITH AN ADDITIONAL 1 TO 3 INCHES POSSIBLE TONIGHT WHEN THE STEADY SNOW WILL TAPER OFF TO SCATTERED SNOW SHOWERS.
IN ADDITION TO HEAVY SNOW... NORTHEAST WINDS WILL INCREASE TO 15 TO 25 MPH FRIDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING WITH GUSTS UP TO 30 MPH. THE WINDS MAY GUST AS HIGH AS 40 MPH NEAR THE LAKE ONTARIO SHORE. THIS WILL RESULT IN BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW... ESPECIALLY ACROSS OPEN AREAS.
Hope they close the roads so my son won't have to drive in this this afternoon to go to w**k. Don't know whether my DIL had to drive around the lake to Hillside where she teaches. Anyway it looks nice outside from sitting here inside right at the moment.
Paul hope you get feeling better soon. That stuff is not fun. (I'll save you some cookies for when you are feeling better....)
BC that sounds like a plan! We'll talk as it gets closer to April.
My prayers for all in need.
Ray Seneca Lake, Ontario, and Western R.R. (S.L.O.&W.) in HO
We'll get there sooner or later!
More decal work today.
Sue, no I found a better and easier way to paint these figures;
Friend of mine wanted a RS-2 unit I had and asked how much. I told him to paint these figures for me and the locomotive was his.
Lee,
I am afraid that I don't have a source like that.
in a SANTA FE mug, please & thanks.
***Jeffrey, you have that decal work down to an art.
Dog tired today. Just working on easy mindless projects today.
Rob
CederstrandDog tired today.
And just how tierd is that....really? I mean, have you ever actually BEEN a dog, and tired at the same time? Ya see, then you would know, right? Inquiring minds want to know........

Afternoon all!
'Tis a fine Finger Lakes Winter's Day outside. So far we have a little over 6" of fluffy white stuff (in about 4 hours) on the ground with a couple more hours of heavy snow before it tapers off to snow showers complete with thunder. Then the wind should pick up and make a real mess.
Just got off the phone with my son. He thinks they will close second shift where he works, if not he will become officially snowed in and unable to get out of Geneva to go to work (which is the truth). His wife had to go to work this morning, they closed school at noon. Her usual 15 minute drive took almost an hour.
Cookies will be ready for evening snack tonight. Update later.
refill and some veggie soup, please & thanks.
***Philip, suppose I could have said, "Old Dog Tired", as looking at our own old dogs, I'm pretty darn sure I know how they feel.
***Ray, hope you are bringing a LOT of cookies. I for one can't just eat a few...I don't stop until my innards say quit.
Painted all around the baseboards where the carpet will be laid. Tomorrow I'll use a roller to paint the rest of the plywood floor. This is said to keep dust from working up through carpet pads & carpeting. Have the extra paint, so why not give it a try.
Did hay rounds to the front & back pastures. Not much else to report on. Will be in the corner booth working on a mug coffee, waiting for those cookies to arrive. Rob
Evening Diners. I'll have a bacon double cheeseburger if you don't mind, and a glass of water to go with it. I'm starving.
I'm looking on railpictures.net for prototypes for all my locomotives. I found one for my GP35, now for the GP30.

They do look good.

Cederstrand***Ray, hope you are bringing a LOT of cookies. I for one can't just eat a few...I don't stop until my innards say quit.
There'll be plenty for all, makin' a whole lot of them. Only problem is to ice them I need red food coloring. I found my food coloring pack and I have Blue, Yellow, and Green, but that's all. The Red one must have gotten used up last year...... Darn. Ok, ok,ok! I'll get to work and make some Toll House Cookies tonight. How's that?
Finally stopped with the constant snowfall around 4PM this afternoon. Total here at the house 9" in 6 hours. Certainly no record for these parts, but we still have 2 to 4" more in snow squalls tonight. I finally went out and fired up the snowblower a little before 5 while waiting for Alice (you remember Alice?) to get those Scalloped Ham and Potatoes out of the oven. I see it just came out so dig in fellas. Anyway, I was running the blower and down the street comes the city snowplow busy filling in all the driveways on the other side of the street that had just been cleaned out. Since I know the route, having lived in this house for 25 tears, I figured I would finish and wait for him to swing around and come back and fill in my driveway again. Waited, and waited some more....... He should arrive just about the time I sit down to a nice big helping of Scalloped Potatoes (with ham) and a nice hot cider.
Later everyone!
last mountain & eastern hoggerJeff are those decals or the ones you made with air-mail paper on the puter??
Hi Gang: I went to the doctor today. He said that I have a stomic virus and to drink plenty of water and have some chicken soup with clear broth. That's about all I can do. I am feeling better so I gues I'm on the mend.
Ray I'll have to pass on those cookies for a bit.
I think that I'll head out and come back in later.
Good evening everyone! It only took two hrs to get back to London from a client's home just outside of Ilderton---yeehaw! ---and I thought about three oughta do it
We got about a foot of it in our neighbourhood. One of the fellows up the street from us wanted to go play with his snowblower so he went and did everybodies sidewalks and a good part of their driveways for them...now we're trying to figure out what to get him for Xmas...
I'm going to sit back and order a baconburger with fries and a hot cup of coffee please.
Well I worked my one day for the week today. It was a loooong day.
I will try to get some shots up tomorrow of what I did this week for the WPF.
Lets see.............weather wise, the news say 1-3 inchs, and the weather channel is saying rain. I guess I will know tomorrow.
I guess I will watch some christmas movies, and call it a night.
Everybody stay warm.

"Rust, whats not to love?"
My sister and I went out to eat tonight at the Wagon Master, the local steak house. She had an 8 ounce sirloin, baked sweet potato and side salad and I had my usual, a 8 ounce sirloin, 1/2 rack of ribs and side salad with a Dr Pepper. We had most of the meal in peace, until somebody's kid started screaming to beat the band. Time to leave. Put me anywhere in a restaurant, just not near a screaming kid! But that wasn't quite the end of it. We had just about gotten back home, still three miles out, when an owl flew out right in front of us. All I remember of it is an explosion of feathers! There's no apparent damage to the truck, which is a very good thing, seeing as it belongs to my niece's live-in boyfriend. The only reason we were using it is because my sister's Caddilac has become undependable of late and she's seriously considering getting a new car. If she has her way about it it'll be a Nissan Altimma. My BIL has his heart set on a Mustang but she says 'That ain't happening', especially not for no $29K! It's nice to be back home starring at the comforting warm glow of the monitor screen knowing that not three feet away the weather is trying to go crazy. It's foggy, it's clear, it's raining then it's foggy again. All in all it's been about a normal night.
Alright all you guys (and gals), COME and GET IT!!! Careful now, they are still hot from the oven. Flo, Milk for everyone to go with them.........
Ray; Audrey did up a bunch of chocolate chunkie cookies yesterday and now today you came up with this? You did it --- there they go---
I'm getting stuff together to make up some egg nog cookies---(ahem).
***Jeffrey, good thing the car is OK, but sorry to hear about the poor owl. Had a few close calls with owls at night over the years, but never that close. You know what type it was?
***Ray, those cookies really hit the spot.
MMM...Cookies!
Has been a light drizzle on and off all day and tonight it's turned back into steady rain. Ground is a mud fest. Going to need one more load of heavier gravel rocks for the driveway.
Good night all. Rob
I think that a hot cocoa would go great with Ray's yummy chocolate cookies.
There is a storm warning for late tomorrow afternoon. We could get up to 8" of snow. If that happens on top of the foot that we have, wow.
Well, we finished all the so-called wrapping for christmas and now I wait for the onslaught next week---I's be headin' for the bed, g'nite
***Sue, that's a lot of snow to make a "Snow Train" out of. I guess it will be snowing down the road from you guys in Rochester where my Dad still lives. BTW, my sister is further south in Toledo. Would you believe out of her family (husband & two sons), she is the only one into trains. She has HO scale and loves riding full scale steam. She was disappointed when her boys showed no zero interest in model RR'ing.
It's still raining steadily here. Good for the water table.
Slept 4 hours then bang...wide awake. Rob
Cederstrandsorry to hear about the poor owl. You know what type it was?
