a few tries and the muggy activation password worked. Is my original sign in password not affected, still the same?
Bergie says... If you had a username/screenname on the old site and was able to post in the old forums, you do not need to re-register or go through any type of process to unlock your screenname. You simply need to log out, then login again. - Bergie

Din,
I also had problems reactivating my account and couldn't log back in with my usual password. When I clicked the "Forgot password" link, I was sent a very cryptic one in an e-mail. I tried copying and pasting it from my e-mail. When that didn't work I entered it manually. After a few tries it finally took and I was back in business again.
According to a post by Wade (welmblad), I guess all we need to do is to log out and log back in.

I hear all that now, but it was first come first brain recognize what was thrown before it. So I did the activation deal. duh. Have I changed my login password, or was that only for the activation?
If you log out now, you should be able to log back in using your e-mail address and password.
My question is not getting answered.
For now I have to make the ussumption that I am logging in with this cryptic password used for the activation. But when I get to the site its auto-logging me in so I am not typing any passwords.
But if I have any problems and I have to log in, I have to try this cryptic password which proved fatal trying to activate the old username. BTW a bug already, I had a screen where I could get my password emailed to me, I clicked it, and it says "The system cannot find the URL" (or similar if I recall the error right)
My plan is to make sure I have or can change the password back to a more friendly password.
Do you see what I am saying so far?
The activation generated a crazy cryptic password, and if I log out, I may not be able to log back in.
I have the password in the email that it sent, and cross my fingers if I get it right entering it.
The system needs some debuggering already it seems.

Your question will now be answered. You log in with your email and password as you always have.

My former log-in name and password would not work either.I followed Bergies way of doing it step by step, but it simply wouldn't work
After attempting to trying to gain access several times by using my email and password,
the new system simply wouldn't accept it., I kept getting "invalid email or invalid passord"
Also said that my email address couldn't be found
I had to call in to Kalmbach by phone to resolve the issue.
It now works fine.

OK...OK....just for jollies I logged out. My auto-fill in had my login email and the password which I believe was generated by the system for the auto activation. BUZZ. Didnt work. So I tried my original password I was using NOT generated by the activation system. I got in.
Now. This is the question one more time. It is not a logging in question.
Did the Activation password creation change my login password..or not?
