I have a die cast chassis Bachmann 2-8-2 steam loco, made in Hong Kong, that has its pancake style motor fully encased in the diecasting.
It also has a molded smoke fluid reservoir that is shaped over part of the top of the chassis, rather than the straight sided 'flower pot ' type.
Would like to find out when this version of the 2-8-2 was produced and locate an exploded parts diagram.

The Bachmann 2-8-2 diagram maybe at this link...goodluck

Thank you
Unfortunately it is not the 2-8-2 SY Mikado China or the 2-8-2 Mikado 1990 that I can see there. Additional info: it has a black plastic body shell with cab # 2528 and has a silver colored cab roof & front boiler cowling.
BTW, if you are the creator of the HOSeeker site then many thanks as I have found it very useful. A great resource.
Hi,
I just pulled my Bachmann out of the storage shed and this is the exact model you are describing! It is the Bachmann Mikado 2-8-2 with the Vanderbilt Tinder with smoke. The number on the side & front of the engine is 2528. The Bachmann model number is 54501. If you are interested, I have the origonal parts sheet and can (i think??) email it to you.
