How many yard switchers do you have in your fleet?

I've got nineteen units total, all first generation diesels. Eight for each railroad I model, and three 'miscellaneous' units. Six are GM switchers and the rest are all Alcos.

One, I have a SW 1500 in my yard some of the time it is paired with and other 4 axle that handy for working the yard. I have switched the yard with one 6 axle from time to time.

There is no such thing as a bad day of railfanning. So many trains, so little time.

Have three in the fleet. One SW12,two SW1500.Two are CSX,and one NS,the two owners of my Phenix City,Seaboard and Southern Railway.

I have a P2k 0-6-0 B&O and a Cow and Calf set (Athearn) also for B&O for the heavier breaking and making of trains. I also am expecting delivery of a Western Maryland VO 1000 from Stewart Hobbies any day.

I will be adding one more to handle interchange duty for loads of logs, coal, ore and stone coming down from the hills. I have not yet found a suitable switcher for that duty.

I got 2 SW1500 and 0-6-0T so that is 3
and there is also an old camelback for shifting MOW trains, does that count as a switcher as well?

Counts as a switcher to me!! I've got a pair of LL SW1200s (n scale) but need someone in n scale to make SW1500s so the North Texas Central can retire those tired 567's!

None at the moment, but the IMRR is planning on purchasing a couple of SW1500s of MP15-1s for its limited yard facilities.[:)].

Ten, all diesel. Four Alcos and six EMDs. Four of the switchers are modern: one SW1000 and three SW1500.

2 Athearn SW7s - one Amtrak, one PB&NE (from the SE set of a few years ago). However, as my layout depicts a museum shortline switching tends to be done using whatever's available. This can include Dash 9s (runthrough CSX power), F7s, SD9s, etc

Since I model a Quasi-urban "short line" which mainly does local switching and transfer runs (a rather common theme nowadays I understand), basically my entire fleet is 'yard engines (3 SWs and 1 MP)'; remember that GP38s (1) and the such are also used in real-world yard switching. I may get a CF7, which again I think is used a lot in yard switching in the real world (there were like 233 unit I think, most now sold off to smaller railroads).

counting the steam power that i run, i would say that it's close to 20 or so untis. i've got some that unit is older than me. I've also got three that i designed and custom built from the railhead up. to quote one of the persons here,"LIFE IS SHORT, PLAY WITH TRAINS".[:)]

I have one to switch a local grain company two track yard. they must be rich I guess to have an expensive desiel switcher for only to tracks.

My whole fleet is switchers!

Well, switchers, critters, varmits, dinkies, gypsies, gooses, and whatever's.

Actually the largest engine is a Dunkirk type Shay, I also have two 2-4-0's, I'm hoping to add a modified Bachmann Industrial Mogul converted from 2-6-0 to a 0-6-0 this summer. Otherwise everything is a two axle diesel or gas/mech (10 total), or a 0-4-0 steamer (8 total). Which is fine as all the cars are small 2 axle industrial cars or 20 footers.

Geez I don't know mark. If you think will help ya I'd go for it.

Personally I have a 0-6-0 and a 0-8-0 for switching both are bottom end I'd like to invest in P2K however they are pricey. I have a Mogul and a Camel Back but they are for light spur line work.
