After all that good help, no sound for my brass Shay.
The decoder that will work with the motor will not fit in the engine.
The decoder that will fit will not work with the motor.
The replacement motor is out of stock with no anticipated delivery date.
SO - I will try a simple decoder and try sound in my Sierra.
