WCFAN,
In as much as all we ever seem to see from you are locomotive pictures, (And don't get me wrong they are very nice locomotive pictures.) Two questions:

I only ask because I have a friend from way back who collected HO locomotives and nothing else. The only layout I ever knew him to have was a circle of track on a plywood board, and I never actually saw him run anythin on it!
Thanks. Yes I do have a layout. It's a 4x8 that is still a working progress. But I haven't worked on it for a long time as it wasn't what I really wanted. Bad track, was the main problem, it was very unreliable. I Now build dioramas to get my skills better, and to take photos. I Love to take photos.
Yes I do own ALOT of rolling stock. I usually use a car or two in my photos to make it more realistic.

Just a wip shot of my transfer bridge and the stern of the car ferry Annie Deuce. I am actually able to (gingerly!) switch cars on and off of two of the tracks on the Annie. The third track (closest to the camera) of the transfer bridge wont be hooked up to the switch until the bridge assembly is finished painted and put into place!
The free end of the bridge is held up by wood dowels (which will be painted black) glued into holes in the scenery board. The support towers will sit on wood dowel pilings and the hinge end of the bridge will rest on a plaster retaining wall similar to the bridge abutments in my avatar.
Edit:
Just thought I'd add a picture of the prototype...

Not bad. Kinda blends with the Indiana RR Red/White. And it gets the ugly looking and lousily oplaced "The Power Line" off the side of the cab. Still kinda like the Red/Gold though they have now. Suggestion for placing fonts: Type it out seperate of the engine once you know the size and color wou want. Then copy and paste it in Paint, and make sure Draw Opaque is NOT checked. That will the underdoy pattarns show through.

First post on WPF. First pic is of the 4x8 Plywood Central, scenery by my 12 y o grandson John!
Next 2 pics are from a trip to Essex CT, Steam train ride/riverboat ride/steam train ride (4 hours total). Mrs & I went with a seniors group, so I couldn't get a better pic of loco or train as we were rushed along as a group. Included a bus from Northern NJ, a nice lunch (steak etc) and the rides for $49 each!! Gotta love those senior groups!!
I picked up an Alexander Model's "Little Hook" crane
it was a fun kit
I wanted to put it inbetween the tracks and use it as a transfere dock but there's not enough room
Wish my camera took better closeups

It is great to see RRCanuck back posting, and with rather nice images if I do say so. Lou, nice to see your contribution. Terry, a nice little setting you have there. CNJ, as usual, a top notch image from you.

CNJ; That looks excellent! You should contribute some of your photos to MR's Gallery!
Nothing really new from me, just some photos of my work-in-progress Koester Foods industry, scratchbuilt out of foam core board.

Hi,
Here is a dual guage turnout I built earlier this week as part of a display I am working on...
This is one of 8 that was made for a display to be shown at the 2008 NMRA Train Show next month in Anaheim.

Building a protolanced industrial park layout
Ray Seneca Lake, Ontario, and Western R.R. (S.L.O.&W.) in HO
We'll get there sooner or later!
I finally got my layout up and running after moving into our new house about 2 months ago. I had to compromise with the wife on layout space, so we have a dual-use spare bedroom. The room is approx. 10 x 11, and one half has our computer desk and the other half has my layout. Because of space limitations, I could only put up the modules to make half of my donut-shaped layout. The unused modules are stashed in the corner. I ended up with a 6 x 10 L-shaped shelf layout.
And now for the pics:
This first one shows the long end of the layout, which is basically a small yard. My benchwork consists of 10" x 13" L-shaped shelf brackets screwed into the wall studs. Each bracket has an 18" long piece of a 1x3 on top of it, which is what the layout sections themselves are sitting on. My workbench is under the layout on in the background. (excuse the mess!)
Here's the other end. Can't see the trackwork in this one either, but it's a small industrial switching area. Since I couldn't use the next module down the line, I don't have enough lead track left to do any switching, so I'll have to concoct some sort of removeable staging system. I'm thinking about something similar to Dave Vollmer's setup that I could remove after every operating session.
A closeup of my Zephyr mounted on a shelf under the layout. The thing sitting on the layout above it with the phone cord attached to it is a handheld throttle I built for the Zephyr using the plans from http://www.tonystrainexchange.com/technews/zephyr-cab.htm I followed the plans exactly, except I installed a phone jack in the throttle so I could use a coiled phone handset cord that could be unplugged and replaced if necessary. So far, the throttle works like a champ!
Here's my trusty P2K SD-45 leading a MOW train, consisting of 2 Tyco reefers that have been fitted with masonite track cleaning sliders.

Here is CNW RS3 1613 after its RS11 upgrade, my first attempt at a kit bash, a very simple modification that took a little more massaging than I expected to fit properly.
Sorry I'm late... I spent the better part of the day getting loaded...
I built this load up with some Evergreen beam and column shapes. I made the sleepers with little tabs so it sits securely on the Atlas N scale flat car, but can easily be removed. I first painted it flat black, then misted some silver aluminum over it to make it look more like steel. I then hit it with a couple of washes of dirt and rust, then brush painted the sleepers and dunnage to look like timbers. Blackened thread is used to represent the cables that secure the load to the deck.
Better weather that car up a bit!
I also finished this...
I used some cut stripwood, stacked on styrene strip dryers, and good old masking tape for the tarp. I blackened some thread with a sharpie marker for the tie-downs. I also built a small weight into the load.
Good to see those flat cars finally carrying some revenue freight!

My first WPF posting. It's not much, but at last I put my depot next to the track. Obviously there is still a lot of work to do; but that train won't stop here anyway.

Looks like a puzzle to me. Very confusing at the bottom of plan. Is that your yard, or a very large complex? I can only suggest simplifying that portion of the layout
Mike:
At the bottom, that's a local clasification yard, 2 industrial spurs, and the second main.
A weekend project.

Paint me yellow and call me chicken nuggets but that's more of a project than I ever envision myself taking on. Based on the photos, I'll give you a ten. You'll have to judge how well it works on your own.
no pics yet..
ya ya i know gimme a break... the paint's still wet!!
but the first Dixie Road locomotive is drying right now. It will be a while before I get the decals made and applied. (unless someone can whip me up a set of white lettering... anyone got a white-ink printer they can run for a couple of bucks?)
I'll post a few pics later when the paint is dry and the loco is re-assembled...
