Barrier
Posted by johnzee1943 on Wednesday, June 25, 2008 9:33 PM

When painting one of my Jordan kits it mentions to use "Barrier" before painting with any of the solvent based Floquil paints.  What exactly is Barrier and who makes it?

Thanks,

John

Barrier  - Clear, quick-drying solvent-proof undercoat for use on

polystyrene. Prevents crazing -  Made by Floquil

Years ago Floquil was reformulated to meet enviromemtal regulations

Barrier is not necessary with modern Floquil paint,  according to this discussion:

http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/showthread.php?t=212553

I have brushpainted the reformulated Floquil on plastic models without any problems.

I tried to sell my two cents worth, but no one would give me a plug nickel for it.

I don't have a leg to stand on.
