No models to show, but I did see something kind of odd railfanning this afternoon.
Nice pic's everyone...well, time for me to FINALLY contribute. My yard light tower is finished, althought I need to weather and attach to a base... here she is! Spent about a week and a half scratchbuilding this at nights! Still have one lense on the lamps I may reglaze, but since they are detachable, no biggie! Just pop off with an exacto, re glaze and in. Lets me replace the LED's too, if I ever need to! Here is the prototype:

Well here is my contribution.
I dragged my diorama out side once again. I still have a lot of work to do. On top is making grass. Then ballasting, other details, ect ect.
Acquired from the Fox River Valley/Fox River Valley Western in 1993, 2500 is Wisconsin Centrals only SD35. This was originally a High Hood Southern SD35, FRV chopped the nose, and later made it's way onto the WC. Just released from the North Fon du Lac shops in fresh paint, we see her as she drifts into Clear Water Junction. She is assigned to the RL-IR local (Random Lake to Iron Ridge). Only a few months later she would permanently be assigned to switching Wausau.
After the Crew of the RLIR locals slows to cross the CNW/UP crossing at Clear Water Junction. The crew will then make a set out at the interchange. This is most likely 2500s first run in WC livery.

Those microled's are sweet, aren't they? I get mine from Ngineering...where you get yours? Saw them at a show. They have some SWEET incandescent colored ones in micro (2x3mm) and super-micro (1x1.5 or so....). I have a project I will hopefully post later that uses 5 of the micro's and they work nice... you can use 38GA wire with them, so VERY easy to place, etc.

More progress was made over the last week on benchwork and the sub-roadbed was got well underway. Below are a few highlights from the week's activities, but the photographic story of the layout can be viewed at http://www.robson.ph/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=870.
Here's a photo of the overall benchwork completed and ready for ongoing works. Of special note is the central peninsular which is collapsable to create more room through romovable hinge pins used to hold it together.
On the end of the peninsular is a small clip-board I attached using hinges for holding the track plan. This is very useful for taking quick measurements and seeing where things should go as, when elevated, it can be seen easily from anywhere around the layout.
My final highlight picture for you is something I recommend to anyone at the same stage of layout construction as me. Rather than translate curves directly from paper to sub-roadbed I created a series of curved templates, 1" in width and increasing in diameter from 12" to 24". This allowed me to check planned curves on the benchwork before cutting anything and then they can be easily used as variable size templates on the sub-roadbed materials to be cut.
So that's about 2 weeks worth of work. It'll slow right back down again as I have to go back to the job that pays the bills.

Looking good guys. Here's my waterfront scene far from complete. Just finsished building the container unloading crane kitbashing an ICH crane kit. It's one of two that will be kitbashed. Soon i'll add the water, a pier and a few more buildings not to mention a lot of land scaping. Hope i'll be done with it in a few months.

Thanks, but it's FDT's, not BLI's, trackmobile. It runs really smooth and really slow , but then it's only designed to pull no more than 3 freight cars, depending on type of car.

Fortunately I did take some pics of what I did as I was working on it, so I'm going to write a procedure of what I did. I'll tell you now that you need really steady hands and a good magnifier to wire the LED's. Here is a size comparison of the LED's I used, in the pic, to the left is a regular white 3mm LED, in the middle is the micro LED that I used, and to the right is a 1.5v microbulb from an Athearn engine.

My new layout, (#4), a bridge-line that takes place in Eastern Missouri, will connect the CB&Q near hiway 79, then west to Hawk Point then south along hiway 47 across the old Wabash / Norfolk & Western RR line near Warrenton thru Missouri Wine Country to connect with MKT near hiway 94. Since this is "my" railroad most places will have the "flavor" of this area but maynot be perfect to the prototype. Time will be pre Burlington Northern (1970).
The things that will be different on this layout:
#1 This will be a point to point RR built on Hollow-core doors along two walls, so it will be in sections.
#2 It's going to be less track, no yard, no switch machines, open staging, & simple engine service area.
#3 Just a few small towns with one or two sidings.
#4 More open scenery between towns.
#5 Interchange with RR on each end.
#6 Keep everything simple so I can spend more time running then repairing!

Yup. I painted the M-4. Grimy black overall, ATSF silver for the cylinder heads and roller bearings, and a mixture of Floquil graphite and Old Silver for the smokebox and firebox. Sprayed the grimy black, brushed on the rest. I'm gonna enjoy it like this for a while, then hit the Bragdon chalks a little later.
That tank car is ASTOUNDING! Like everything else you do!

P2Ks do make good rams, friend of mine's train derails, P2K E9 behind, I didn't notice until it was too late...Who knew tycos could fly?

Good pics as usual. I have not been doing much RRing the past couple of months due to lack of funds, but I am back in the saddle again. Here are a few pics of what I am working on.
These are pics of what will be ''Allison Cat'', It is named after my great niece who just turned 1 a couple of weeks ago. The main shop building is made up of 2 of the Pikestuff warehouses. It will take up a lot of real estate when I am done, but will look nice I think.
