What kind of engines do you buy & why?

I prefer Kato, Atlas, Stewart and P2K, including the Heritage series, because they are smooth running and quiet. I also like Genesis locos and just purchased a Broadway Limited 2-8-2 Heavy Mikado, really nice but now I am going to convert to DCC to get the most out of the sound system.
