jalajoie - I guess that 6' is a bit long for my 4x8!! great job
David Woodard - coming along nicely - one suggestion, I see you're useing steel EZ track (black roadbed) - maybe consider the gray roadbed - nickel silver - it wont rust up like the steel will. My

jalajoi - That ship must take up a bit of real estate!! How long is it & how many containers will it take?
Everyone - GREAT JOB!!
To built the ship we had access to the plans of a small containers ship, the prototype carries 1100 20 feet containers. We had to reduce the size of the model a bit, we removed 100 feet from its length and we also removed one full story of the superstructure therefore reducing the number of containers that could fit on the boat. Our model is 6 feet long and can't quote on the number of containers it could carry.

My decoder installer has had two major surgeries in 10 months, and has understandably been unwell for all that time. Recently he found some energy and enthusiasm and commenced a series of kits, each taking roughly one week. Here are two of them.
I sought and received his permission to post these. I hope you like them as much as I do.

I'd say that the Surgery Train is a masterpiece all on it's own. But it's missing something...

Here is a work in progress for me
Took a Fresh Cherries (?) C10 from Walmart and took off the bottom, leaving the interior and windows. Found two sets of wheels off of random tractors and put them under the truck. I am going to have a scene with the truck heading into a mud pit with only the back tires visible, so the difference between the two will not matter. I still need to figure out a way to make decent KCs for the rollbar and form the rear differential with some putty or super glue. A little paint is also in order for the rollbar and suspension. Then its time to get dirty...
I was thinking of posting photos this week, by my goodnes.... I should save the humiliation. Adding trees for now to my son's layout. Well, He is. I stage the shots (will not allow him near my camera, lol) PS No tripod. do not own one yet. I asked for fathers day.
Progress So far on his layout is minimal, working out from this corner:
Garry's doodlebug mini-tour inspired me to go into my files and get out this photo of the Burlington "Pioneer Zephyr" on its cross-country promotional tour. Here it is heading east over Yuba Summit at sunset.
And a little earlier in the day in South Yuba Canyon, passing one of my Yellowstones (naturally!) on the non-parallel double trackage in that area.

Hi all,
Bob's photo of the guy fixing his truck reminded me of this one of mine. Different era, different country, but still trains.

Cheers to Phillp for telling the story abot the "surgery Express"....it certainly illustrates the fine character of most model railroaders.
It was "Tatarsald" 's first post in WPF. I hope he does more. The BSF unit looks great.
Lee's WM MofW train looks impressive. it might be a good topic for its own thread. Neat!
I like Driline's scratch built Bentendorf yard office.
Geared Steam's scene looks real, and I bet those guys never do clear the weeds in the right-of-way.
Bob k's photos from his club are always enjoyable to see. It must be a great club layout!
There are many others. WPF is off to a great start!

I'm working on the table for the n-scale layout extension; no photos, so here's one from an excursion.

I'm afraid I cannot recall what make it is, but it is 1/76 scale - that's why I placed it in the foreground, as it otherwise rather dwarfs the 1/87 figures. However, it looks OK if no figures are placed within a few inches of it, as in the picture.
I bought it a few years ago in a model shop which sold military vehicles. I plan to purchase a few Roco Minitanks jeeps, as they are in the correct HO scale.

Berlingo,
I don't run any steam on my N-Scale Laurel sub but pics like yours make me rethink that everytime I see them...Wow.
Thanks for sharing those.

N Scale 2-10-0 Minitrix.
Just another day on the Laurel Sub....
I have been at little things the last few weeks. Included here:
1. Humpyard levers installed to opperate new roundhouse yard., the little switch turns the lights on in the Tomar switch stands
2. Had to invent a way to opperate the turnouts with the levers and the Tomars - two pics
3. I just had to set some engines around the turntable even though I have done no more work on it
4. The Divisions model contest was "Whimsical this month, so I entered this. It is a piece of the Malachite/Azurite formation in the Queen mine( it really was there), if they had brought it out instead of blasting it to get the copper. It is the formation that my quarry has gone down to get. The rock is a piece I found rock hounding a while back and cut and polished
If this is the start of WPF, what willl the rest be like - terrific so far!!
Phillip - good to hear your son is on the mend & happy with the trains some of the fine folks here sent you!!
Driline - Heck of a good scratch/kit build!!
Papou - OK - at least it's a 'Vette, not a nissan or honda!!!!
Lee - how about some more shots of the ice breaker - awesome!!
Brian - how about a how-to on getting sound in those FM's? Look good - bet they sound good too!!

What a great series of eye-candy. Great images, everyone. Philip, glad to read that you are upbeat and that your son is doing well. He must be as excited as all get out.

We needed a containers ship for the club's layout, we built our own.
While I took part in the building, it is the work of 5-6 members of the club
