Anyone order MR magazine binders?

I feel stupid asking this, but I got some today and I'm not sure how to get the metal binder strips out without bending them.  The strips should just go thru the center pages, right?  Can anyone shed some light?

Open the binder and grab one of the metal strips in the center (from top to bottom), flex it a bit and it will come out. Find the center page of the magazine, insert the metal rod between the center pages and reinsert the rod into the binder. Repeat 11 more times and you'll have one year's worth of magazines stored away.

That's just what I figured but at 11 bucks a pop, I didn't want to take any chances.  Much thanks!
