prototype for IHC coaches?
Posted by Cannoli on Friday, March 21, 2008 8:56 AM

I have a pair of ICH HO coaches for the B&M. I know that these coaches are not based on true B&M prototypes but was curious to know what prototype they are based on, or at least most closely resemble?

Thanks,

Jason

Unfortunately the IHC cars are not prototypes of anything. In fact some - certain cars- don't even look anything like North American cars. Perhaps they used some European drawings, or the mold makers just used details they were familiar with. The windows don't match up to much of anything.

IHC used to have a set of corogated side streamline cars lettered for the B&M.  With a red stripe on the side, running thru the windows, they are not a bad standin for the hand ful of B&M streamllined coaches aquired in the 1950's.  With body mounted Kadee's, extra weight, metal wheels, interiors and lights they make up a fantasy B&M express train.  Looks good behind the B&M E-units from P2K.
