Will it fit?

Ok...

Trying to dcc a loco so...

Will the N scale new release of the Lifelike aka Walthers Proto GP 38-2 shell fit on the Atlas GP 38-2 frame?

I ask this because I want the loco for dcc and the Proto 2000 shell is too nice to pass up!  The only prob is there is no direct fit for circuit board replacement so I am trying to replace the guts!

The Life Like GP38-2 is missing a major spotting feature for that locomotive, that being the sight glass on the engineer's side of the long hood...  I can't say for sure if the shells will swap directly, but I've moved Atlas GP-9 shells onto LL GP-20 drives with a minimum of difficulty.

The new Digitrax DZ125 is pretty small, requiring very little milling of the frame...  You might think about that...

I really dont want to do any frame milling.

Especially with Intermountain coming out with a dcc equipped gp38-2 for the seaboard system this fall...

May just sell mine on ebay and then advance reserve the new ones...
