Yes, Ry-ops-industrialSIG@yahoogroups.com is place for operations and rail industries. But be aware, there can be up to 50 posts a day.

Modular railroading at its best!
If it has an X in it, it sucks! And yes, I just had my modeler's license renewed last week!

I belong to 38 Yahoo Groups and moderate the one for my local model train club. I have not experienced any major problems with spam on these list. As stated before check your settings. There is a lot of information in those Groups.

Normally the moderator can configure the sign in settings to keep out spammers.

And the vast majority of the threads and posters are on topic. They also tend to be more focused and specific. Since they don't keep posting stats that cuts out all the "I've got 100 posts" garbage threads and the nasty flame wars that erupt on these relatively unmoderated lists get quickly squelched and the flamers put on moderated status or kicked off. Makes for a much more civil and informative discussion.

If you want to chit chat this is a great forum. If you want detailed info and in depth discussions of specific topics, go to Yahoo groups.
