Well, since it appears that no one has started the thread yet, I'll take the honors and get things started.
This is a little project I just finished for a fellow forum member.

After a some detailing and weathering (prototype photos on the background)
More details on the project to follow in a separate thread that will contain more pics.

Thats a great looking engine house. Very realistic.
I've been working on my layout all week. Working on wiring and misc. things. I would have some pictures, but the camera died once I took these photos.
Heres a few on my personal cars. The Montana Rail Link will hit eBay. The switcher I got for my wife since she likes working in the train yard. Heres a couple of my gons as well.

I built this yard this week. Its based on the Bekin United yard featured in the supplement to the latest MRR Planning mag.The white area in the lower right is a space for a ship and a dock.
Hers some of the MDC Roundhouse John Allen commerative kits I'v built in the last coupla weeks. The train in thre yard is one and the freight too. The freight is hauled by a Spectrum 10 wheeler, and the engine in the yard is part of the John Allen set.
I was wondering when this was going to start.... Looks good so far!
I have used what little time I have had this week for modeling to make a barn for what will be a Turkey Farm I hope. This is a three in one laser cut kit from American Model Builders. Here it is being test fitted after the basic structure was glued together. After working on it a few minutes every day it is now basically assembled. One last photo of it from the other side of the layout. This is the first kit I have done from AMB and find that is the best laser cut wood kit I have done so far. Very well made with excellent and easy to follow directions.

We'll get there sooner or later!

That's really a nice job on the barn. It really looks familiar though.
A fellow club member did this and the farmhouse, he was also impressed with those kits.

Hi all,
First time posting a picture here. This is a custom painted Kato N scale SD70Mac. Took about three weekends to complete. There are other photos at this site of mine.
JKtrains, I like it. You did a nice job weather. Although I think it's a bit to heavy where the DB would be. Other wise it is very nice weathering job.
Robby P. nice weathering too!

reklein wrote:Thats a beautiful barn Howmus, but I have to pick a nit. Thats a horse and cattle barn. Poultry barns are generally fairly low buildings with big vents on the roof or simply a large shed roof with no sides for turkeys. However I guess there's nothing wrong with a guy getting out of the horse and cattle business and raising turkeys in retirement.Reklein, in cattle country.
LOL, I was actually refering to a post last week where someone asked me if I was going to include the original Plainville Turkey Farm on the layout. The Plainville Turkey farm was originally a dairy farm in Plainville, NY that decided to start raising turkeys along with the dairy operation back in the early part of the last century. They were very sucessful, BTW That barn will house the dairy part of the operation. There is info about the history of Plainville Turkey farm here: http://www.plainvillefarms.com/compinfo/ Be sure to check out the barn on the page....... In 1925 they were raising turkeys, but still were a dairy operation. There is a shed with the kit (not to mention the farmhouse) that may house some turkeys (Depends on whether i can find the room in that location for it. If not, it won't be a turkey farm at all).
BTW, I was born and raised on a dairy farm in NYS! We also raised hogs and chickens and several hundred cats (or so it seemed). They kept the mice and rats down to a minimum............
Last week I sent my newly purchased RTR Athearn locomotive off to a fellow forum member after he offered to weather & detail my locomotive pro bono. I have never met him and have only casually spoken to him via this forum.
Has anyone seen it?
More MOW cars for me this weekend. This is a more unusual set - a shower car used by the ATSF railway. It is not exactly like the prototype but it gets the job done.
Detailed and ready for paint.
Complete tender with weathering.
The water car with extra piping detail.
Enjoy. Michael

Nope not at all.
Can't wait to get further along like a lot of you are. I'm still working on finishing the backdrop and getting some roadbed laid.
This past week I've been doing the mud work hiding the seams and screws. This is the staging side of the backdrop.
Another shot from the layout side.
Last night I painted the backdrop section that I've been working on all week.
This is the staging side.
Now I have to do something about getting some lighting on the layout side of the backdrop.
Great photo's everyone.

Wow great benchwork, nice lighting and a killer layout room. We are all jealous
Theres some nice work going on out there. I especially enjoy the benchwork progress photos.
Here the yardmaster will be working on sending the power off the just arrived train, to the service tracks, and sorting the remaining cars. The tank train is passing on the main but will not dissrupt the yard. He better get to work as the yard is nearing capacity and the industries around the yard need servicing also.
John
As usual the WPF contains top notch model railroading! Keep it up guys!
Here are my first attempts at weathering this DT&I boxcar, a work in progress:
And the start of a new grade crossing and trees on the layout, this is a work in progress:

As usual, your photo is outstanding (not to mention the modeling). "Is it real, or is it Bob's?"
Here's an interior of an operating trolley at the Chattanooga Choo Choo. It can be operated from either end.
Thanks to all for the photos this weekend!

The models in the photo are HO scale, but I'm also into On30, mostly assembling and collecting so far.

Thanks! You photo reminded me of this one of mine:
After paying 290.00 for a locomotive I just cant bring myself to put dirt and grime on it. I am still working on my weathering skills with freight cars. Someday I will get as good as you are. Nice job. Keep up the good work.
Well today I worked on a winter diorama for pictures. I used flower for the snow and it really worked well. All I used was a board and some paint sticks. Here's my favorite photo.
Nice winter scene. What is that tall, translucent structure next to the engine?

Any plans to make it work?
Oh, and Bob: Would you mind telling me about the Lomax switcher?
