Some pics of structures.
First a veiw of three almost finished structures. The brick one is the ingot mold foundry, the large grey wall to the right is the billet mill and the concrete block building in the background is the boilerhouse.
And here's a pic of my current scratchbuild, a gas producer house.
I have also been carving foam for the canal at the front of the layout.

It is pretty easy to accomplish that. Just put the camera on macro mode then use a magnifine glass in front of the lens
Here's three of a long SP coal train on our club layout "Anson Yard". Firstly, coming across the river:

And here's an overall view of the whole thing:
The scenic part of layout is 36 feet, and comprises of a single track main line, a long passing loop, three loops in the yard plus two sidings, one of which serves Anson Grain, and there are two more elevators and another industry siding near the river.

I just completed Walthers scale houses. (Total time about 6:00 hours) There are actually two inside the kit. I'll take photographs this weekend and upload them.

I did some major work on my kitbashed N scale PRR H10sb. I re-boilered and redetailed her, replaced her decoder (TCS M1), and changed her road number to #8756 (her old number - 4048 - was more typical of the H9 class).

I am still having fun with sepia tones, so here is a new image of Niagara 6001 storming in the highlands above Seneca Falls.
I won't pretend that my work is as good as the preceding posts, but I thought I would actually post some of my progress.
This is my coal mine I've been working on; it still needs some detail work. Also that's a Bach. Spectrum 2-8-0. A very nice engine.

Yes, Woodland Scenics field grass. I still need to trim it here and there,& maybe spread it out a little to look more realistic.
Can you explain in just a few sentences how you add rust to your boxcars? It is very convincing.

So, about 2 months ago I started a project...here was the before:
It basically was a ok bridge, but had unrealistic supports (brick) and well, as the first bridge entering the room, just didn't "do it" for me. Also, the slope had a poor transition and kept causing the Kadee's to let loose...my son found it funny to see 5 or 10 cars rolling down the hill, but I was not amused... Anyway, I ripped up some track and the bridge, paid more attention to the transition and here she is... (scratchbuilt, my first from Central NY plans...)
Much improved and so much fun now.... just have to tweak a bit but works fine!

Thank-you for your feedback, Bob. I like the "feel" that sepia adds to the images. Although, I guess a little goes a long way, more-so for some than others.

Thanks for the complements in respect of the SP coal train - the locos and train belong to Rob Mallett, who also did the weathering. I hope you won't mind another example of his smashing work, taken this afternoon.
