Work needed on Athearn AC4400CWs
Posted by BNSF4ever on Monday, January 14, 2008 12:53 PM

I have two Athearn AC4400CWs in HO--a KCSM and Union Pacific Primer job that I would like detailed to make them more realistic. This would include non working ditch lights in the proper position, MU hoses and cables, and windshield wipers. I have neither the time nor skill for this so I am posting to see if there is anyone out there who could do such work and what an estimate for the job would be.

hey BNSF4ever

I have 3 of the Blue Box version at home. If thats what you have then I'd say maybe look around for a new Athearn or a Kato. If it's one of the newer versions I'd find the time and aquire the skill.

Even the new versions leave room for detailing like mu cables ect. the grab irons are nice enough but if you really want to go nuts smokey valley and utah pacific make nice stanchions for GE units, and BEND you own railings! The railings that come at least with the smokey sets aren't right and are still too thick.

But, if you want to pay to have this done I'm sure someone 'l do it!
