I guess I will start it off. Heres a few shots of my layout. I know guys its a little dusty. Thanks to plaster of paris. I still have to add some hills and small mountains to the front of the riser. I still have to finish off the mountains hill range around where there will be a small coal mill. Now...... I didn't finish off the backdrop all the way due to a added a small hill and mountain in that corner. I wanted the backdrop like that mainly for picture taking. I think I need to paint some hills on the backdrop. I don't like how it looks other than the clouds. Heres the few shots.

Here's 2 UP ABBA FA/B ALCO sets, and 3 UP H15-44's on the throat of my loco depot (ie, the loco depot consists only of the lead to it, and the tracks finish about 12 inches under the bridge - the main line is to the right). All units have sound installed.

Nothing new on the layout, but a couple new neighbors came over and wanted to help work on it! I'm afraid they might eat more scenery than they build though.
THAT was a bizarre thing to wake up to.

Here is a picture of a spur of the moment project I worked on tonight. I need several car card boxes for my layout so I decided to make up 1 prototype to see how well they will work. I only have about 6 more to make for the towns and two larger ones for the yards.
Loather gets the "Most Realistic Livestock" award.
Brian .... Great line up of UP first generation units.
Pike 62... I like the card box idea!

Sorry about that Loathar-didn't mean to show up so early, just wanted to see your progress on the layout.

Aaaaaaaaah ya------------ Well maybe--------- Why ?
Hey Tator, Tatorsalad..... Do you have any other aliases like the famous comedian Ron White? I just had to ask.
Terry, The link worked just great for us. Great detail. Too bad you don't have room for the part that is cantilevered over the abyss
Sue & Larry
Anything is possible if you do not know what you are talking about.
Loather, I just love the detail you did with the donkey, but it would not normally be positioned at a bird feeder. Perhaps adding a fence to that scene might help. Kidding aside, your neighbors really should keep their critters from roaming like that. It's not safe for the critters, especially if there are roads nearby. Rob
Here is a sepia tone image that I took on the layout Friday. Thanks to one of our regulars, I can now make images this way. The software also allows me to superimpose a mask around the periphery of the image.
He has created a monster!! It's all I wanna do now.
Nothing happening on the layout this weekend.. One guess on why..
Seeing as how this is Winter, I will show my ski slope with motorized ski lift. I plan to have a way to cover the ski slope and skating rink during the summer season at the Bavarian hill top Resort.

For me nothing captures the nostalgic flavor of steam like a sepia photo It's like looking at an cigar box full of old photos
This does look suspiciously like a Charlie Comstock inspired photo
Careful Selector you could get good !

I thought for a minute there you were modeling an earthquake!
Not one building is level
I think the ski resort will look pretty cool though once you're done.

Just don't eat the yellow snow!
The picture combines several techniques intended to make the layout more realist. This is the section of the wall at the head of the inside stairway to my garage loft layout. The trimmed commercial picture of the waterfall is placed behind the trestle to hide the top of the picture, and create perspective. Above the trestle is a section of SceniKing flatland and distant hills. I matched top blue of the SceniKing banner section at the paint shop, so that the blue painted above is exactly the same as the blue at the top of the 7 1/2 inch high SceniKing picture. By applying the picture and blue sky to a roll down window shade, the window is still accessable, but the transition between the window shade and adjacent scenery is nearly invisible.By painting the vertical flat surfaces on the front two sides of the scene a flat grey, it does not distract from one's attention from the scene.
I've made a little progress this week.
That will be a lake there on the lower right
This should be a pretty dramatic railfanning location when it's farther along:
And here's my project from Christmas week when the layout was under a Stop Work order because we thought the house might sell:

True...very nice illusion. HOWEVER I see the earthquake has struck here as well. I see downed powerlines to the right of the picture. I hope they're not LIVE! People could get KILLED!
Why dont you Hot glue instead of tape the cardboard strips? Kevin
Well i am changeing the way my layout is setup so no tracks, but on the bright side i got a powercab wensday!
