Last year was exceptional>added 16 power units to the fleet: 2 steam/ 14 diesel. To date 3 early diesel switchers, and one BLI-T1. Have 4 more BLI due by spring. Note that I retired last year, and put some of the initial funds into the RR. Normally average one new power unit quarterly, and add cars to the RR at 1 to 6 per month, depending on the type kit, or scratch built. I model PRR-Lines West, and we pennsy SPF's tend to build in bulk like the prototype. Thankfully my wife encourages my efforts.

I voted for more than 10. I have just increased the size of my N-scale to 4 times its previous size so many more loco's will be needed. I sure like the Life Like loco's coming in CN paint schemes, however they are not DCC ready so they loose out. Guess they will be Atlas and Kato locos and paint them myself.

1 to 4 is a good guessestimate. It depends on what models are released. Since I model CN/CP in N, not too many offerings are ususally available, so some kitbashing, detailing is usually called for. Wi***here were more N scale available for Canadian prototypes, especially cars to match Kato's beautiful VIA P42.

I'm just starting out - just bought a starter set and Iam going to start building a table this weekend with my 10 year old son. I voted 1-3 but it may be none depending on how big the layout is and how far we get.

One maybe 2 at the most unless something really exciting comes out. I finished a large part of my fleet last year. I'm thinking a PA maybe or something steam.

There are some interesting new N scale steam locomotives that have been announced, so I'll probably get two or three. An N scale shay -- now that's a must have.

Fact is I don't need any, but there is one unit I will be looking for (a Genesis F7A in C&O paint. So, I will probably end up buying about 6 locomotives.

I know of at least two I'll buy for sure, the N-Scale 2-6-0 from Atlas and the N-Scale Shay (also from Atlas). I also hope to add a ATSF Yellow Warbonnet F7A-B set that I'm having custom painted.

I voted 1- 3 as my layout already has more locomitives than it can accomodate. A person never knows what is going to show up on the market and I'm always ready to add something new. For now my main concentration is on scenery and weathering & painting some of my rolling stock

I am just getting the layout built, but have four diesels already just waiting for the track to be laid. I will probably pick up a Switcher later in the year.

1-3 and I just picked up a neat little 2-8-0 PFE B&O yesterday. I figure this is getting close to saturation unless I start to replace my older and cheaper equipment. If someone decides to make a Selkirk I'm probably at my limit. Then again that BTI Texas looks mighty handsome. And then there's the......

I voted 1-3 because I don't have much room for more than that...besides, I have all the diesel power I need, but this year I'd like to scratchbuild or kitbash several electric box motors or steeplecabs. I probably won't finish more than 1-3, and there will be much rejoicing by the crew at my engine facility...

I have 15 N Scale locos on reservation thru Rio Grande Hobbies and BLW so far and I hope the MFGs don't issue anymore this year, my bank is gettin low. I guess I'm a collector.

I purchased 7 locos in 2003, and I guess I'll add another 4 or so this yeear but I'm on the brink of building the layout room and after construction of that keystone item, then I'll be full steam on tracklaying/scenery. I'm also close to going DCC so I guess capital equipment budget will be on decoders and controllers.

I won't be buying any locomotives this year as I already have 60+ in my "stable", mainly N-scale (4 are HO) and the maintenance on these really takes up some time to keep them in good running order.

I plan to find a Weinert BR 38 era III, a Roco Re 4/4 II, a Roco BLS Ae 4/4, and to build an MDC outside frame HOn3 consolidation into an RhB one-off metre gauge engine. And if you know what this is all about, you are indeed broad minded!!! [:D][:o)]

I may buy one for it's chassis. The few commercial offerings in my gauge are so expensive that they're not in the category of "champagne tastes on a beer budget" as someone put it, but more like "Chateau d'Yquem tastes on a soda budget"!

I want the Micro Trains FT A & B, both set #11 and set #12. I want a B & O Mikado in N and HO scales. I want an F7 (A & B powered) in B & O.........gee, the list goes on and on....

I plan on buying a Lionel Challenger and will try to purchase a T-1 Duplex both in HO.

Have ordered the Walthers Santa Fe Super Chief, so that counts for two, but do like the Zabra Stripes, so that could add a few more. But allready have to many locomotives. The older ones will get replaced with the newer ones. It may depend on what (Hopefully) the new layout will take, once I get started some time next year.

Help, help! It's still January and I've already bought two UN-planned Minitrix engines.

I have so many already that I doubt if more than 4-6 new models come out during the year that I will really want. I usually purchase only HO scale steam engines, and the market seems to be fairly well saturated.
